This weekly series
will include as many of my all-time favorite tunes as I can get my grubby
little hands on (so to speak). Now, each
one included in each edition will have some connection with the other—albeit
only as a figment of my imagination, but they will not be numbered. For I just cannot bring myself to rate some
higher than others. So, this will not be
a countdown, but if you are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t
matter. Besides, with no countdown, this
could go on forever and ever! Oh, and
despite the fact that there is absolutely no way that your musical tastes can
be as exquisite as mine, I welcome any suggestions that you might dare to
make. I am, after all, quite magnanimous
by nature.

Band
Winchester
Cathedral
You're bringing me
down
You stood and you
watched as
My baby left town
You could have done
something
But you didn't try
You didn't do
nothing
You let her walk by
Now everyone knows
Just how much
I needed that gal
She wouldn't have
gone
Far away
If only you'd
started
Ringing your bell
Winchester
Cathedral
You're bringing me
down
You stood and you
watched as
My baby left town
Oh-bo-de-o-doh
Oh-bo-de-o-doh
Oh-bo-de-o-doh
De-o-doh
Don’t Bring Me Down
Electric Light
Orchestra (ELO)
You got me runnin’
Goin’ out of my
mind
You got me thinkin’
That I’m wastin’ my
time
Don't bring me down
No no no no no
I'll tell you once
more
Before I get off
the floor
Don't bring me down
You wanna stay out
With your fancy friends
Im tellin’ you
It's goin’ to be
the end
Don't bring me down
No no no no no no
no no
I'll tell you once
Before I get off
the floor
Don't bring me down
Don't bring me down
Grroosss
Don't bring me down
Grroosss
Don't bring me down
Grroosss
Don't bring me down
What happend to the
girl
I used to known
You let your mind
out
Somewhere down the
road
Don't bring me down
No no no no no
I’ll tell you once
more
Before I get off
the floor
Don't bring me down
You’re always
talkin’
About your crazy nights
One of these days
You're gonna get it
right
Don't bring me down
No no no no no
I’ll tell you once
more
Before I get off
the floor
Don't bring me down
Don't bring me down
Grroosss
Don't bring me down
Grroosss
Don't bring me down
Grroosss
Don't bring me down
You’re lookin’ good
Just like a snake
in the grass
One of these days
You're gonna break
your glass
Don't bring me down
No no no no no no
no no
I'll tell you once
more
Before I get off
the floor
Don't bring me down
You got me shakin’
Got me runnin’ away
You get me crawlin’
Up to you every day
Don't bring me down
No no no no no
I'll tell you once
more
Before I get off
the floor
Don't bring me down
Down
Down
Down
Down
Down
Down
I'll tell you once
more
Before I get off
the floor

ReplyDeletelove 'don't bring me down'. used to love to dance to that in my younger days. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll probably be humming that first tune now-- catchy and takes me back to my kid years!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Alan!!! Tell me about it. (LOL?)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear TWG!!! I dunno. Methinks that would be a rather hard song to two-step to, and a waltz step wouldn't work at all. Nonetheless, I can shake my head up and down with the best of them when that song comes on!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Julie!!! I can't remember if we actually had a 45 (78?) of the song, but we must have. For I can remember hearing it A LOT way back when.
