“Come Monday…” is a
weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about, websites, movies, documentaries, television
shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time. Be assured that these reviews will be
generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come
Monday.” This is subject to change,
however. In fact, I would be most
derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while. For rants promote change, and change can be
good—right? Therefore, since good is
generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel
universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being
something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).
“Unreal”
is a term that was commonly used to describe something that was hard to
believe—both in a good and bad way. It
may still be, but I do not get out much anymore.
Anyway,
unreal was what came to mind when I started noticing what programs were being
aired on a certain network while setting our DVR to record what keeps my wife
relatively happy. For they just didn’t
seem to fit.
So,
I made a list of what was being broadcast (and rebroadcast, and rebroadcast,
and rebroadcast) that week, which is as follows. Please keep in mind that it was compiled a
couple of weeks (or so) ago.
Oh,
and added here and there to the schedule, was CMT music shows of various shapes
and sizes, which does fit. For we are
talking about [CMT] here.
No,
I really don’t get it. For it would be
different if CMT was a local television station wanting to provide a broad
range of entertainment choices for those living in an area where they could not
pick up any other channels, but with hundreds of different channels being
available on cable, wouldn’t they want to distinguish themselves, especially
with the name of Country Music Television?
Come on now, who do they think they are—[TNN]?
