Cloister-Case

Alas, it is time for me to shut this down for awhile.  For I just don’t have enough energy to accomplish all that I have been given to do, with one book being yet to reach fruition while others are in desperate need of some more pruning.  Therefore, I need to stop publishing “stuff” here.

As instructed, I have already taken down the books on the Amazon Kindle platform in favor of making them available as a free PDF when they are finished.  No, I have not been assured that they will be any more palatable to the tastes of most, but at least they should be a little more grammatically-correct to those allergic to incorrectness.

Hopefully, I will be back at adding to this mess here in 2-3 months, but don’t think that I am disappearing from cyberspace altogether.  Oh no, I would not want you-all to forget about me.  So, I will be leaving comments here and there from time to time.

Yeah, that’s actually me as I now am up there on the left.  Be assured that it is out of great concern for the emotional well-being of all of the lovely lasses, who will be surely missing my “stuff” so desperately that I included the picture.  I am sorry for not letting them down easier, but I figured it would be better to make it clear that I really don’t look like [Sam Elliott] or [Tom Selleck].  Yeah, I suppose I could have not made it so abundantly clear.  Sigh.

P.S.: Just in case you are wondering how Arlynda can stand to be around me, I will let you in on the secret to my romantic success.  Okay, also wearing a festive garland of lettuce leaves and tomato slices most certainly doesn’t hurt.  (TMI?)

Sites To See #427

The SOLE purpose of this series is to help call attention to sites that I think many would find most interesting—in one way or another.  Just to be clear, inclusion in this series is not necessarily meant as an endorsement, and I have included sites that I found rather disturbing.  The link below each image is to the site itself, and each image is linked to the particular post from which it was taken when applicable.  Please, go see for yourself.  Oh, and as of August 10, 2012, I will be no longer including sites that have auto-play and word verification engaged.

ATF: Happy Endings

This series will include as many of my all-time favorite (ATF) tunes as I can get my grubby little hands on (so to speak).  Now, each one included in each edition will have some connection with the other—albeit only as a figment of my imagination, but they will not be numbered.  For I just cannot bring myself to rate some higher than others.  So, this will not be a countdown, but if you are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter.  Besides, with no countdown, this could go on forever and ever!  Oh, and despite the fact that there is absolutely no way your musical tastes could be as exquisite as mine, I welcome any suggestions you might dare to make.  For I am, after all, quite magnanimous by nature.

End of the Line
The Traveling Wilburys
Well it's
All right
Ridin’ around in the breeze
Well it's
All right
If you live the life you please
Well it's
All right
Doin’ the best you can
Well it's
All right
As long as you lend a hand

You can sit around and wait for the phone to ring
At the end of the line
Waiting for someone to tell you everything
At the end of the line
End of the line
Sit around and wonder what tomorrow will bring
At the end of the line
Maybe a diamond ring

Well it's
All right
Even if they say you're wrong
Well it's
All right
Sometimes you gotta be strong
Well it's
All right
As long as you got somewhere to lay
Well it's
All right
Every day is Judgment Day

Maybe somewhere down the road aways
At the end of the line
You'll think of me and wonder where I am these days
At the end of the line
End of the line
Maybe somewhere down the road when somebody plays
At the end of the line
Purple Haze

Well it's
All right
Even when push comes to shove
Well it's
All right
If you got someone to love
Well it's
All right
Everything will work out fine
Well it's
All right
We're goin’ to the end of the line

Don't have to be ashamed of the car I drive
At the end of the line
I'm just glad to be here
Happy to be alive
At the end of the line
End of the line
It don't matter if you're by my side
At the end of the line
I'm satisfied

Well it's
All right
Even if you're old and gray
Well it's
All right
You still got something to say
Well it's
All right
Remember to live and let live
Well it's
All right
The best you can do is forgive
Well it's
All Right
All right
Ridin’ around in the breeze
Well it's
All right
All right
If you live the life you please
Well it's
All right
Even if the sun don't shine
Well, it's
All right
All right
We're goin’ to the end of the line

Touch of Grey
The Grateful Dead
Must be getting early
Clocks are running late
Paint-by-number morning sky
Looks so phony
Dawn is breaking everywhere
Light a candle
Curse the glare
Draw the curtains I don't care
‘Cause
It's all right

I will get by
I will get by
I will get by
I will survive

I see you've got your list out
Say your piece
And get out
Yes I get the gist of it
But
It's all right
Sorry that you feel that way
The only thing there is to say
Every silver lining's got a
Touch of grey

I will get by
I will get by
I will get by
I will survive

It's a lesson
To me
The Deltas
And the East
And the Freeze
The ABC's
We all think of
Try to give
A little love

I know the rent is in-arrears
The dog has not been fed in years
It's even worse than it appears
But
It's all right
The cow is giving kerosene
Kid can't read at seventeen
The words he knows are all obscene
But
It's all right

I will get by
I will get by
I will get by
I will survive

The shoe is on the hand it fits
There's really nothing much to it
Whistle through your teeth and spit
'Cause
It's all right
Oh well
A touch of grey
Kind of suits you anyway
That was all I had to say
And
It's all right

I will get by
I will get by
I will get by
I will survive
We will get by
We will get by
We will get by
We will survive
We will get by
We will get by…

A Sunday Drive

Back during our childhood, our parents would often load up my brother and me after Sunday morning church services for a leisurely drive around where we lived.  Even though we were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them again, and this is why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a series revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again.  The link below the image is to the site itself, and the image is linked to the post it was first included in here.

ATF: Regrettable Situations

Mama Told Me Not To Come
Three Dog Night
Want some whiskey in your water
Sugar in your tea
What’s all these crazy questions
They’re askin’ me
This is the craziest party
There could ever be
Don't turn on the lights
'Cause I don't wanna see

Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
No
That ain't the way to have fun
No
Uh huh

Open up the window
Let some air into this room
I think I'm almost chokin'
From the smell of stale perfume
And that cigarette you're smokin'
About to scare me half to death
Open up the window
Sucker
Let me catch my breath

Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
That ain't the way to have fun
Son
That ain’t the way to have fun
She said no
Son
Yeah

The radio is blastin'
Someone's knockin' at the door
I’m lookin’ at my girlfriend
She’s passed out on the floor
I've seen so many things
I ain't never seen before
Don't know what it is
I don't wanna see no more

Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
She said
That ain't the way to have fun
Son
That ain’t the way to have fun
No
Mama told me
Mama told me
Mama told me
Told me
Told me
Mama told me
Not to come
Whoa
Yeah
Yeah
Mama told me
Not to come
Mama told me
Not to come
Mama told me
Not to come
Mama told
Not to come
That ain’t the way to have fun
No
That ain’t the way to have fun
Son
That ain’t the way to have fun
No
That ain’t the way to have fun
Son
Mama told me
Not to come
Mama told me
Not to come
Mama told me
Not to come
Mama told me
Not to come
That ain’t the way to have fun
No
Yeah yeah yeah
That ain’t the way to have fun
Son
That ain’t the way to have fun
No
That ain’t the way to have fun
Son
Mama told me
Mama told me
Mama told me
Yeah

Want some whiskey in your water
Sugar in your tea
What’s all these crazy questions
They’re askin’ me…

Stuck in the Middle with You
Stealers Wheel
Well I don't know why I came here tonight
I got the feelin’ that somethin’ ain't right
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair
And I'm wonderin’ how I'll get down the stairs

Clowns to the left of me
Jokers to the right
Here I am
Stuck in the middle with you

Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you
And I'm wonderin’ what it is I should do
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face
Losin’ control and I'm all over the place

Clowns to the left of me
Jokers to the right
Here I am
Stuck in the middle with you

Well you started off with nothin’
And you're proud that you're a self-made man
And your friends they all come crawlin'
Slap you on the back
And say
Please
Please

Tryin’ to make some sense of it all
But I can see it makes no sense at all
Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor
Well I don't think that I can take anymore

Clowns to the left of me
Jokers to the right
Here I am
Stuck in the middle with you

Well you started out with nothin’
And you're proud that you're a self-made man
And your friends they all come crawlin'
Slap you on the back
And say
Please
Please

Yeah I don't know why I came here tonight
I got the feelin’ that somethin’ ain't right
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair
And I'm wonderin’ how I'll get down the stairs

Clowns to the left of me
Jokers to the right
Here I am
Stuck in the middle with you
Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you
Stuck in the middle with you
Here I am
Stuck in the middle with you
