Link: [The Black Crowes]
Not every song that will be featured here will be what
is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit
of despair, and others will be quite obviously fervent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be
of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been
given ears to hear the message.
She Talks To Angels
The Black Crowes
She never mentions the word addiction
In certain company
Yes
She'll tell you she's an orphan
After you meet her family
She paints her eyes as black as night now
Pulls those shades down tight
Yeah
She gives a smile when the pain comes
The pain gonna make everything all right
Says she talks to angels
They call her out by her name
Oh yeah
She talks to angels
Says they call her out by her name
She keeps a lock of hair in her pocket
She wears a cross around her neck
Yes
The hair is from a little boy
And the cross is someone she has not met
Not yet
Says she talks to angels
Says they all know her name
Oh yeah
She talks to angels
Says they call her out by her name
She don't know no lover
None that I ever seen
Yeah
To her that ain't nothin'
But to me
Yeah me
Means everything
She paints her eyes as black as night now
She pulls those shades down tight
Oh yeah
There's a smile when the pain comes
The pain gonna make everything all right
All right
Yeah yeah
She talks to angels
Says they call her out by her name
Oh yeah
Yeah
Angels
Call her out by her name
Oh ooh
Oh oh
Angels
They call her out by her name
Oh oh oh
She talks to angels
They call her out
Yeah yeah yeah
Call her out
Don't you know that they
Call her out
By her name
Seeing Things
The Black Crowes
I find it hard
To shed a tear
Brought it all on yourself
My dear
Wrong
Yes I may be
Don’t leave a light on for me
'Cause I ain't comin' home
It hurts me baby
To be alone
Yes it hurts me baby
One hundred years will not ease
Everything I won’t believe
I saw it with my own two eyes
All the pain
I can’t hide
And this pain
Starts in my heart
And this love
Tears us apart
You won't find me bent down
On my knees
Oh yeah
Ain't bendin' over backwards baby
Not to please
Oh oh oh oh
'Cause I'm
Seein’
Things
For the first time
Oh oh
I'm
Seein’
Things
For the first time
Oh yeah
I'm
Seein’
Things
For the first time
In my life
In my life
Yeah
I used to dream
Of better days
That never came
Sorry ain't nothin' to me
I'm gone
And that's the way
It must be
So please
I've done my time
Lovin' you
Is such a crime
You won't find me down on
On my knees
Oh
No no no
Won't find me over backwards baby
Just to please
Oh yeah yeah yeah
'Cause I'm
Seein’
Things
For the first time
I’m
Seein’
Things
For the first time
Seein’
Things
For the first time
Oh I'm
Seein’
Things
For the first time
Yeah
Seein’
Things
For the first time
Oh
Seein’
Things
For the first time
Yeah I'm
Seein’
Things
For the first time
In my life
In my life
Oh yeah
Yeah

Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! Yeah, those are some awfully poignant lyrics. Oh, and I think you may really enjoy at least one of two that are scheduled for Thursday.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting post. You do such a neat variety of things on your blog. I am starting to get around to real life again (my blog has kept me ultra busy with the Bingo game that started today)
ReplyDeleteI will enjoy visiting your blog.
Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Tonya!!! Be assured that I have a lot of help. Um, did you say something about Bingo?
ReplyDeleteBoring...I like music to be musical...just my own little odd quirk
ReplyDeletea shame I'm on the laptop and can't listen (note the hint of sarcasm there)...lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! It might be about time for you to get your hearing aids upgraded.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Alas, Duke must be hanging his head in shame.
ReplyDeleteTold you, wimmen have no music in them, unless it's bland they canny hear it.
ReplyDeleteOh my, my dear Adullamite, a few more cracks like that, I am quite sure that she'll be getting serious about putting us both out of her misery. She is, after all, an I-talian from the Bronx, and they have a code to uphold.
ReplyDeleteFirst off - I neither have, nor need hearing aids - my hearing is actually quite acute. Second, if you have been visiting my blog for any amount of time you know that my taste in music is quite eclectic...Third, whether you are aware of it or not, despite my own lack of musical talent I did have formal education in music theory and voice so I think my grasp of what is musical and what is not is built on a sound (unintentional pun) foundation.
ReplyDeleteOf course, as always, it is a matter of personal taste - y'all probably like Kraft mayonnaise...
And as we say in the Bronx - "Phbbft" (For Mr. Adullamite - that is what is know as a "Bronx Cheer" or a "raspberry")
I was browsing the net and I found your site, I enjoyed reading every lines of your blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! Yes, one of the basic food groups is condiments, which consists of Kraft Mayonnaise, French's Yellow Mustard and Heinz Ketchup. A-1 Steak Sauce and Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce are worth a very honorable mention, but they are not essential to the pursuit of happiness.
ReplyDeleteP.S.: According to a recent scientific study, putting vinegar on French fries causes a great lack of good taste in all things.
Thanks for stopping by, my dear Hypergh 14X! I would like to congratulate you on the proper way to serve spam in a comment, but my diet will not allow for anymore servings.
