TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Cherish
The Association
Cherish is the word I use to describe
All the feelings that I have hiding here for you inside
You don’t know how many times
I’ve wished that I had told you
You don’t know how many times
I’ve wished that I could hold you
You don’t know how many times
I’ve wished that I could mold you
Into someone
Who could cherish me as much as I
Cherish you

Perish is the word that more than applies
To the hope in my heart each time I realize
That I am not gonna be the one
To share your dreams
That I am not gonna be the one
To share your schemes
That I am not gonna be the one
To share what seems to be
The life
That you could cherish as much as I
Do yours

Oh I’m beginning to think
That man has never found
The words that could make you want me
That have the right amount of letters
Just the right sound
That could make you hear
Make you see
That you are driving me out of my mind

Oh I could say I need you
But then you’d realize
That I want you
Just like a thousand other guys
Who’d say they loved you
With all the rest of their lies
When all they wanted
Was to touch your face
Your hands
And gaze into your eyes

Cherish is the word I use to describe
All the feeling that I have hiding here for you inside
You don’t know how many times
I’ve wished that I had told you
You don’t know how many times
I’ve wished that I could hold you
You don’t know how many times
I’ve wished that I could mold you
Into someone
Who could cherish me as much as I
Cherish you
And I do
Cherish you
And I do
Cherish you
Cherish is the word

Never My Love
The Association
You ask me if there’ll come a time
When I grow tired of you
Never my love
Never my love

You wonder if this heart of mine
Will lose its desire for you
Never my love
Never my love

What makes you think love will end
When you know that my whole life depends
On you
On you

Never my love
Never my love

You say you fear I’ll change my mind
And I won’t require you
Never my love
Never my love
Never my love
Never my love

How can you think love will end
When I’ve asked you to spend your whole life
With me
With me
With me

Never my love
Never my love
Never my love
Never my
My love

Never my love
Never my love
Never my love
Never my
My love

  2. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Frank!!! I am not sure which one, but two of the first 4-Tracks I ever had was an album by The Association and CCR's Green River. I soon graduated to 8-Tracks, and then I was really rockin'!

  6. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Frank!!! Yeah, you could tell the difference between a 4-Track and an 8-Track by the big hole in the back of the 4-Track. With an adapter, they could be played in an 8-Track player, and when cassettes came-out, a special 8-Track adapter allowed you to play them in one, as well.

  7. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! I have always liked "Never My Love" more than "Cherish," but I love them both because of the harmonizing of the singers.

  8. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Jel!!! If you are dial-up, have you tried putting the video on pause until it fully loads? Even with super-duper fast (yeah, right) Mediacom cable, we have to do that at times.

Oh, and thanks for reminding me that I should have already had your sites added to my "Places of Interst" by now. I'll get right on that.
