Come Monday...Now What?

“Come Monday…” is a weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about,  websites, movies, documentaries, television shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time.  Be assured that these reviews will be generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.”  This is subject to change, however.  In fact, I would be most derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while.  For rants promote change, and change can be good—right?  Therefore, since good is generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).

Well, the 9/11 boogieman has finally been found and killed. Now what?

Yes, it is a time for our intelligence community to beat on their chests and shout, “See there!” For after 9 ½ years, not many were very optimistic about ever finding Osama Bin Laden—let alone taking him out.

However, it is certainly not a time for us to let our collective guards down, and by that, I mean the world over. For the United States may be the most hated, but our enemies will take what they are given.

Alas, it sure looks like easy pickings to me—even here. For if the terrorists would only shift their focus from trying to make really big scores to a number of smaller ones, chaos would erupt from sea to shining sea.

Come on now, just how hard could it be to send a rocket-propelled grenade into a gasoline tanker stuck in traffic on an L.A. area freeway? Hey, anything that could rupture the tank and set a fire would do the trick.

Fuel storage tanks at a convenience store would be an even easier target. For it would take 30 seconds at most to remove the lock and throw a match down the pipe, and an awful lot do not even padlock the lids.

What about all of the pipelines that carry natural gas all over the country? Is every inch monitored?

Yes, great lengths have been taken to prevent a terrorist attack, but what can be really done to stop someone who believes that an eternity in Paradise awaits them from turning our daily lives upside down? What do you think, 50-60 dead and dying in Times Square before the police can take the sniper out?

So, do you still want to believe that it is because of our vigilance that has kept life in America relatively peaceful since September 11, 2001, or could it be that it has been our Heavenly Father who has been keeping the wolves at bay? Tragically, far too many in the Christian community consider that to be a moot point because of being led to believe that He has nothing to do with our daily affairs.

  1. Indeed if it were not for the Holy Spirit holding back the evil one much worse would occur, and violence has been bad since time began.
Jesus however controls the world still.

I suspect some actions will be taken now by those independent groups (al- Queda has always been a loose structure.) Therefore more attacks such as the Spanish train bomb or 7/7 will be seen.

  2. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! Yes, I do believe that you are right about that, but I am glad that they finally got him, which doesn't speak well for me.

  3. There have been too many close calls such as the underwear bomber and the one who tried to set off the car bomb in Times Square to give kudos to the government for their vigilance. Whether those near misses were the result of Divine Providence or the incompetence of the perpetrators, only the Holy One know for sure.

  4. Thank God, for the intelligence community that did not rest.

Thank God and may God bless those warriors who carried out this mission. The Evil Bastard is Dead.

Now, it is not time to rest, the War against those who want to wipe the US and Israel are still amongst us. May they not rest in peace.

To those who harbored & still harbor Evil for so long, may you not rest, for your time is near.

Thank you God and may you continue to bless the United States of America!

  5. I read about this on the front page of the news today. How many do you think will take credit for this instead of putting it where it rightfully belongs?

  6. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Dickster!!! Could it be that even the incompetence of the perpetrators was on account of Him?

  8. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Alas, we already know the answer to that. For the Democrats will be claiming that they accomplished what the Republicans could not, and the Republicans will be claiming that the Democrats were just following their lead. Is this not like one blind person mocking another blind person for not seeing what is really going on?

  9. What's with this US & Israel rubbish?
Time some folks got themselves a map.
Spain and the UK have been bombed, several other nations have been involved in fighting terrorism, Russia and India amongst them.

The US is NOT the centre of the world.

  10. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! Please be assured that Don didn't mean to slight anyone, and if you would go check out his sites, you might find that you both have a lot in common. For you both can be rather cranky at times. Okay, make that a lot.
