Fever
Peggy Lee
Never know how much
I love you
Never know how much
I care
When you put your
arms around me
I get a fever
that's so hard to bear
You give me fever
When you kiss me
Fever when you hold
me tight
Fever
In the morning
Fever all through
the night
Sun lights up the
daytime
And moon lights up
the night
I light up when you
call my name
And you know I'm
gonna treat you right
You give me fever
When you kiss me
Fever when you hold
me tight
Fever
In the morning
And fever all
through the night
Everybody's got the
fever
That is something
you all know
Fever isn't such a
new thing
Fever started long
ago
Romeo loved
Juliette
Juliette she felt
the same
When he put his
arms around her
He said
Julie baby you're
my flame
Thou giveth fever
When we kisseth
Fever with thy
flaming youth
Fever
I'm afire
Fever
Yeah I burn
forsooth
Captain Smith and
Pocahontas
Had a very mad
affair
When her daddy
tried to kill him
She said
Daddy Oh don't you
dare
He gives me fever
With his kisses
Fever when he holds
me tight
Fever
I'm his misses
So
Daddy won't you
treat him right
Now you've listened
to my story
Here's the point
that I have made
Chicks were born to
give you fever
Be it Fahrenheit or
Centigrade
They give you fever
When you kiss them
Fever if you live
and learn
Fever
‘Til you sizzle
What a lovely way
to burn
What a lovely way
to burn
What a lovely way
to burn
What a lovely way
to burn
Fever
Madonna
You give me
You give me fever
Never know how much
I love you
Never know how much
I care
When you put your
arms around me
I get a fever
that's so hard to bear
Listen to me baby
Hear every word I
say
No one can love you
the way I do
'Cause they don't
know how to love you my way
You give me fever
When you kiss me
Fever when you hold
me tight
Fever
In the morning
Fever all through
the night
Sun lights up the
daytime
Moon lights up the
night
My eyes light up
when you call my name
'Cause I know
you're gonna treat me right
Bless my soul
I love you
Take this heart
away
Take these arms
I'll never use
And just believe in
what my lips have to say
You give me fever
When you kiss me
Fever when you hold
me tight
Fever
In the morning
Fever all through
the night
Everybody's got the
fever
That is something you
should know
Fever isn't such a
new scene
Fever started long
ago
You give me fever
Fever
You give me
You give me fever
You give me
Fever
When you kiss me
Fever when you hold
me tight
Fever
In the morning
Fever all through

What a lovely way
to burn

Seriously? Just from reading the title of the post I knew where this was going. Madonna and her ilk haven't a clue as to what "sexy" is. The Madonna video is offensive on so many levels, and I am no prude.
ReplyDeleteThis is Peggy Lee doing the song jazzy - she did slower sultry versions as well.
There is difference between sexy and sensual - Sensual is for grown-ups; sexy is for juveniles. Sexy is how you look, sensual is how you are...
(I have to go wash my eyes out...)
Oh yeah and did I say I prefer Miss Peggy Lee? I was in the Waldorf Astoria one night - hunting for the Ladies Room and she passed through the lobby of the hotel - she was performing there, at the hotel club, not in the lobby. She was so gorgeous - all in white with two beefy bodyguards just two steps behind her. I stopped and gawked, she smiled at me. Highlight of my young life.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! So, does this mean that the main reason why Arlynda gives me dirty looks (and not in a good way, neither!) when I start doing my version of Rod Stewart's "Do You Think I'm Sexy" is on account of her having graduated on to the sensual level?
ReplyDeleteIf only someone gave the ageing slapper 'fever.' Life would improve.
ReplyDeleteYou are trying to stir up some more trouble again--aren't you, my dear Adullamite? Thanks for stopping by again!!!!
