Aretha Franklin vs. Joss Stone

(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman
Aretha Franklin
Lookin’ out on the mornin’ rain
I used to feel so uninspired
And when I knew I had to face another day
Lord it made me feel so tired

Before the day I met you
Life was so unkind
And you're the key to
My peace of mind

Because you make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman
Woman

When my soul was in the lost and found
You came along to claim it
I didn't know just what was wrong with me
Until your kiss helped me name it

Now I'm no longer doubtful
Of what I'm livin’ for
And if I make you happy
I don't need to do more

Because you make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman
Woman

Oh, baby what you done to me
What you done to me
You make me feel so good inside
Good inside
And I
I just wanna be
Wanna be
Close to you
You make me feel so alive

You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman
Yeah
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman
Oh yeah
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel

(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman
Joss Stone
Ooh
Ooh ooh
Lookin’ out on the mornin’ rain
I used to feel so uninspired
And when I knew I had to face another day
Lord it made me feel so tired

Before the day I met you
Life was so unkind
And you're the key to
My peace of mind

Because you make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural
Woman
Woman

When my soul was in the lost and found
You came along to claim it
I didn't know just what was wrong with me
Until your kiss helped me name it

Now I'm no longer doubtful
Of what I'm livin’ for
And if I make you happy
I don't need to do more

See you make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman
Woman

Oh, baby what you done to me
What you done to me
You make me feel so good inside
Good inside
See
And I
I wanna be
Wanna be
Close to you
You make me feel
So alive

You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman
Like a natural woman
Woman
Yeah
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Oh
Oh oh
You make me feel
Like a natural woman
Oh yeah
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
You make me feel
Like a natural woman
Whoa
You make me feel
Oh oh
Oh yeah
You make me feel
Oh my
You make me feel baby
You make me feel
Like a natural woman

  1. Does Joss Stone always perform barefoot? She was good, Aretha Franklin was better. But there are many women of a certain age (such as me) who will always prefer the version from the writer of the song, who was our "voice" for a while - ( Carole King.) I think many of us wore out that album - "Tapestry". I replaced mine with a cd. It's a classic album for us women of a certain age...I think I'll go dig mine out and put it on my play list for today.

  2. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! Hmm, I don't if Joss always performs barefoot. In fact, I hadn't even noticed. (For I was looking at her eyes!) Oh wow, I didn't realize that Carole King was the writer of this song, and I've got an actual album of Tapestry...somewhere.

  3. Well I didn't have to listen to the Aretha Franklin version to know what it sounds like but I did listen to Joss Stone. She did it quite well. I'll call it a draw

  4. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! I suppose it is almost blasphemous to consider anyone as being comparable to Aretha, but I must agree with you on this one.

  5. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! Wow, that's incredibly observant for a Scot! Are you sure you don't have a lot more Irish to you than you'd like to claim?
