Good, Bad and Ugly Ads

Since I have not been given much of a life, I watch an awful lot of television, which includes an awful lot of commercials.  Now, a “GOOD” ad is one that holds my attention and makes me want to at least learn more about the product or service it is for.  A “BAD” ad is one that quickly becomes nothing more than background noise when it cannot be skipped over.  “UGLY” ads are much worse.  For not only do they make we want to never see them again, they make me want to never have anything to do with the company that paid for them to be produced.  Of course, you may feel differently, but I sure wouldn’t say much about it around anyone with a lick of sense.  For I am, after all, an expert on such things—albeit only in my own mind!

  1. The new brad Pitt cologne ad just made news on CNN for being pretty bad - and bizarre- as well. Gotta wonder how these ad companies get paid for these awful ones!

  2. Nah - the Snickers one was stupid. I kinda liked the Healthy Choice one "Turns out I was just hungry" I get that...

  3. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Meredith!!! I haven't seen the Brad Pitt ad yet, but it sounds like an "awfully" good candidate for the ugly category. By the way, Brad Pitt is from here in Springfield, Missouri. I have never had any direct contact with his family, but it has been reported that his brother is fairly active with charity work in the area.

  4. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! I wanted the first good Snickers ad to be the one with Richard Lewis and Roseann Barr as lumberjacks, but with it being so close to Halloween, the Horseless Headman had to be put up.

  6. I think you may have gotten these in the wrong order. Move the snickers one to the bottom and the other two up and then you've got it right...lol

  7. Alas, my dear Ann, you are so impressionable--and not in a good way, neither! For first came Lin and misbehaving in the car, and now Grace and not knowing a good ad from an ugly one. Sigh.
