A Sunday Drive

Back during my childhood, our parents would often load up my brother and me after Sunday morning church services for a leisurely drive around where we lived.  Even though we were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them, and this is why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a weekly series revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again.  The link below the image is to the site itself, and the image is linked to the post it was first included in here.

  1. Shalom Jerry. Jerusalem Hills is honored to be on your list. Thanks.

You remind me of my own family's Sunday rides in the country, back when I was growing up in Chicago. My big brother had a car and would take us to see farm fields with real cows and red barns.

  3. You are most welcome, and thanks for being so considerate, my dear Dina!!! Just think what Sunday drives around Jerusalem would have been like down through the ages! On the other hand, I suppose some of them might not have been all that pleasant.

  17. Jerry, good point. In ancient days, it must have been "a Sabbath day's walk" instead of a drive.

  18. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Dina!!! I wonder if husbands had trouble with backseat (so to speak) driving from their wives during chariot times. Okay, I will concede (ahead of time) that there is probably no doubt about their husbands refusing to stop for directions after getting lost while trying to travel a different route than the usual way. Although I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with that. Of course, I have never been lost, neither!
