TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

In The Air Tonight
Phil Collins
I can feel it
Comin’ in the air tonight
Oh Lord
And I’ve been waiting for this moment
For all my life
Oh Lord
Can you feel it
Comin’ in the air tonight
Oh Lord
Oh Lord

Well if you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I’ve see your face before my friend
But I don’t know if you know who I am
Well I was there
And I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin
I know where you’ve been
It’s all been a pack of lies

And I can feel it
Comin’ in the air tonight
Oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment
For all my life
Oh Lord
I can feel it
Comin’ in the air tonight
Oh Lord
Oh Lord

Well I remember
I remember
Don’t worry
Worry worry worry worry
How could I ever forget
It’s the first time
The last time
We ever met
Met met met met
But I know the reason why
You keep your silence up
No you don’t fool me
Well the hurt doesn’t show
But the pain still grows
It’s no stranger to you and me

I can feel it
Comin’ in the air tonight
Oh Lord
But I’ve been waiting for this moment
For all my life
Oh Lord
I can feel it
In the air tonight
Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment
For all my life
Oh Lord
I can feel it
Comin’ in the air tonight
Oh Lord
But I’ve been waiting for this moment
For all my life
Oh Lord
I can feel it
In the air tonight
Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment
For all my life
Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Well I can feel it

Oh Lord
Oh Lord

Take Me Home
Phil Collins
Take that look of worry
I’m an ordinary man
They don’t tell me nothin’
So I find out all I can
There’s a fire that’s been burnin’
Right outside my door
I can’t see but I feel it
And it helps to keep me warm
So I
I don’t mind
No I
I don’t mind

Seems so long I’ve been waitin’
Still don’t know what for
There’s no point in escapin’
I don’t worry anymore
I can’t come out to find you
I don’t like to go outside
They can turn off my feelings
Like they’re turnin’ off the light
But I
I don’t mind
No I
I don’t mind
Oh I
I don’t mind
No I
I don’t mind

So take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home

Oh Lord
‘Cause I’ve been a prisoner
All my life
And I can say to you

Take that look of worry
Mine’s an ordinary life
Workin’ when it’s daylight
And sleepin’ when it’s night
I’ve got no far horizons
I don’t wish upon a star
They don’t think that I listen
Oh but I know who they are
And I
I don’t mind
No I
I don’t mind
Oh I
I don’t mind
No I
I don’t mind

So take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home

Oh Lord
Well I’ve been a prisoner
All my life
And I can say to you

But I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home
‘Cause I don’t remember
Take
Take me home

  1. Hi FishHawk, thanks for your posts are always interesting. I remember in Italy, when he left the album Face Value, the first album of Phil Collins, did much to talk about themselves, because it was a beautiful album. In the air tonight is one of the most beautiful songs of Phil Collins. Thanks for listening to old memories that have appeared this song.

  2. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear David!!! I must admit that it was when the drums really kick in that first caught my attention about "In The Air Tonight," and then I got to listening to the lyrics, which are incredible. Alas, I wish I was coordinated enough to play the drums, but I can't even bang on the bongos like a chimpanzee.

  5. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! I am sorry. I know I promised you that I would include Kenny G in one of these, but I just can't make myself do it. Michael Bolton is also out of the question. Can you ever forgive me?

  6. Well you get a thumbs up for the Phil Collins songs especially in the air tonight. However I read your comment about Michael Bolton and I happen to like several of his songs.

  7. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Was it while you had a Michael Bolton song cranked up that Duke ran away when he did?
