ATF: Give and Take II

This weekly series will include as many of my all-time favorite (ATF) tunes as I can get my grubby little hands on (so to speak).  Now, each one included in each edition will have some connection with the other—albeit only as a figment of my imagination, but they will not be numbered.  For I just cannot bring myself to rate some higher than others.  So, this will not be a countdown, but if you are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter.  Besides, with no countdown, this could go on forever and ever!  Oh, and despite the fact that there is absolutely no way your musical tastes could be as exquisite as mine, I welcome any suggestions you might dare to make.  For I am, after all, quite magnanimous by nature.

Give a Little Bit
Supertramp
Ooh yeah

Alright

Here we go again

De de
Oh oh
Na na
Hey hey

Give a little bit
Give a little bit of your love to me
I'll give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my love to you
There's so much that we need to share
So send a smile
And show you care

Alright
I'll give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my life for you
So give a little bit
Oh give a little bit of your time to me
See the man with the lonely eyes
Oh take his hand
You'll be surprised
Oh take his hand

Oh yeah

Come along

Yeah yeah
Yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Aaah
Louder

Yeah

Give a little bit
Give a little bit of your love to me
I'll give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my life for you
Now's the time that we need to share
So find yourself
We're on our way
Back home
Ohh goin' home
Don't you need
Don't you need to feel at home
Oh yeah
We gotta sing

Ooh yeah
Gotta get a feelin'
Ooh yeah
Come along too
Oh come along too
Come come come come along
Ooh yeah
Come along too
Ooh yeah
Come along
Say take a look
Come along too
Come along right
Come along way
Sing it tonight
Ooh ooh

Take It to the Limit
The Eagles
All alone at the end of the evening
And the bright lights have faded to blue
I was thinkin’
About a woman
Who might have loved me
And I never knew
You know I've always been a dreamer
Spent my life runnin’ around
And it's so hard to change
Can't seem to settle down
But the dreams I've seen lately
Keep on turnin’ out
And burnin’ out
And turnin’ out
The same

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it
To the limit
One more time

You can spend all your time makin’ money
You can spend all your love makin’ time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
Would you still be mine
And when you're lookin’ for your freedom
Nobody seems to care
And you can't find the door
Can't find it anywhere
When there's nothin’ to believe in
Still you're comin’ back
You're runnin’ back
You're comin’ back
For more

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it
To the limit
One more time

Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
One more time
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
One more time
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
One more time
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
Take it
To the limit
One more time

  1. Reading lyrics is so much different than just listening to the songs. Both can be appreciated in different ways.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Stephen!!! Yeah, the line in Take It to the Limit, "I was thinkin' about a women who might have loved me and I never knew," takes me back to a very turbulent time in my past.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Lee!!! I am really glad you enjoyed this. I thought Supertramp was an Australian band for years, but as you told me before, they are actually British.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear MB!!! While I was putting this together, I was thinking about how I wished we could have went to the concert they held here on their farewell tour a few years back, but over $200 for a single ticket was way beyond our reach, From what I have heard, though, it was well worth every penny.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Marja!!! Oh yes, Supertramp's Breakfast in America has a classic cover. So, don't you dare make him throw it out! I did, however, throw out two Hotel California cassettes years ago after they quit working from being played so much. Such is life in the fast lane, you know.
