This weekly series will feature ads that I consider to be the very best (in one way or another).  Please do not hesitate to tell me about your favorite ads, and if you have some (good) taste, I just might add yours to the list.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! Be assured that this commercial brings back a lot of memories to me, with some I would have preferred being left forgotten. Sigh.

  3. I was taken aback by the price (34.95) until I Googled the company - ahh - they are in South Africa...

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Grace!!! Yeah, those prices also came as quite a shock to me, and I already knew where the company is located! Sigh.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Stephen!!! Methinks he may have expended more calories than he took in, though. Did this not make it a losing proposition? Of course, that is not accounting for taste, and taste always counts. Silly me.

  6. Lol. That was really funny. Poor guy. All the trouble he went through for nothing.

  7. It's ages since I've had a burger of any kind....at least, six years...probably more. And that was from a local, little privately-owned business....not one of the major franchises. I've only ever had one McDonalds and have never had the desire to have another one. Kentucky Fried Chicken I only had three times; and the third time I tossed it away after about two bites.

Fun ad, though. I love the way the minds of some of the ad men work. Good stuff!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Lee!!! When Arlynda and I watch the cooking competitions between highly-respected chefs on the Food Network, we often wonder if we could even eat what they have prepared. Alas, I suppose poor folks just have poor ways. So, we will remain very thankful for when we can afford to eat the delicacies that KFC, Pizza Hut and hamburger chains have to offer.

    2. I eat simply Jerry...mainly including lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. It's much cheaper than take-away (take-outs), which are over-priced and not very healthy. I'm not rich, but I do eat good food. I guess that was how we were brought up...we didn't have much money to spare when I was a kid, but there was always good food on our table and in our cupboards.

    3. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Lee!!! Good for you. With none of us in the house being able to go to the store all that often anymore--not to mention cook very much, we have to live on processed foods.

    4. I understand, Jerry. You're between a rock and a hard place. It's tough.

I only do my shopping once a week. I'm not one to be running to the stores all the time. Once a week is enough for me! Any shopping other than my food/grocery shopping I do on line when and if needed.

Here in Aus we have what is called "Meals-on-Wheels"...and that's an organisation that caters for folk in a similar situation to your own. The volunteers deliver meals to the homes...it can be every day or every other day to suit the needs. Do you have similar in the States?

Also I know there are volunteers who do shopping for those who need it, too.

    5. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Lee!!! Thank you also for understanding. We also have Meals on Wheels, but now that we have had a taste of what help is typically available to people like we now are, we are even more reluctant to give it a try. Suffice to say, most of the "help" we have received has caused more harm than good, with "beggars cannot be choosers" being at the heart of this "help."
