WhiteHeart Wednesday

MP3 Audio Player From: [BlogDumps Video]

Independence Day
WhiteHeart
Look it, Daddy
Look at that parade
They got a marchin’ band

Ask not
What your country can do for you
Ask
What you can do for your country

You got to know the truth
If you wanna be free

What is freedom anyway?

Let freedom ring
From every hill and mole hill in Mississippi
From every mountainside
Where all of God’s children
Black men and white men
Jews and Gentiles
Protestants and Catholics
Will be able to join hands
And sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual
Free at last
Free at last
Thank God Almighty
Free at last!

Listen to our declaration
Listen to our testament
We’ve been given a revelation
We’re sure of where we stand

So let the banner
Be unfurled
We found a Light of hope
In a dying world

Hear the myth of modern man
You’re the god of your own land
Call your weak spineless fools
You’ve given up your right to rule

But I’ve been to the land of me
And I know I was never free
Freedom came
When I gave it all away

So we’re callin’ it Independence Day
I call it Independence Day
Let the rockets blaze across the sky
Raise the flag of praise way up high
Let the doubters call it what they may
It’s Independence Day

You can work to crown another hundred kings
But I believe in a better dream
They may call it slavery
But the biggest chain I knew was me

So let the idols tumble down
The walls of lies crumble to the ground
I know where salvation can be found
Let the idols tumble down

That’s why they call it Independence Day
I call it Independence Day
Let the rockets blaze across the sky
Raise the flag of praise way up high
Let the doubters call it what they may
It’s Independence Day

So join in the celebration
It’s a birth of a holy nation
It’s people alike
We are proud to say

It’s why we call it Independence Day
I call it Independence Day
Let the doubters call it what they may
‘Cause we call it Independence Day

It’s Independence Day

Independence Day

TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Still In Saigon
The Charlie Daniels Band
Got on a plane in Frisco
And got off in Vietnam
I walked into a different world
The past forever gone
I could have gone to Canada
Or I could have stayed in school
But I was brought up differently
I couldn’t break the rules

Thirteen months and fifteen days
The last ones were the worst
One minute I’d kneel down and pray
And the next I’d stand and curse
No place to run to
Where I did not feel that war
When I got home I stayed alone
And checked behind each door

‘Cause I’m still in Saigon
Still in Saigon
I am still in Saigon
In my mind

The ground at home was covered with snow
And I was covered with sweat
My younger brother calls me a killer
And my daddy calls me a vet
Everybody says I’m someone else
That I’m sick and there’s no cure
Damned if I know who I am
There was only one place I was sure

When I was still in Saigon
Still in Saigon
I am still in Saigon
In my mind

Every summer
When it rains
I smell the jungle
I hear the planes
I can’t tell no one
I feel ashamed
Afraid someday
I’ll go insane

That’s been ten long years ago
And time has gone on by
But now and then I catch myself
Eyes searching through the sky
All the sounds of long ago
Will be forever in my head
Mingled with the wounded cries
And the silence of the dead

‘Cause I’m still in Saigon
Still in Saigon
I am still in Saigon
In my mind

I am still in Saigon
I am still in Saigon
Yes I’m still in Saigon
In my mind

Still in Saigon

In America
The Charlie Daniels Band
The eagle’s been flyin’ slow
And the flag’s been flyin’ low
And a lot of people sayin’
That America’s fixin’ to fall
But speakin’ just for me
And some people from Tennessee
We got a thing or two
To tell y’all

This lady might have stumbled
But she ain’t never fell
And if the Russians don’t believe that
They can all go straight to Hell
We’re gonna put her back
On the path of righteousness
And then
God bless America again

And you never did think
That it every would happen again
In America
Did you
You never did think
That we’d ever get together again
But we damn sure could
We’re walkin’ real proud
And we’re talkin’ real loud again
In America
You never did think
That it ever would happen again

From the sound up in Long Island
Out to the San Francisco Bay
And everything that’s in between them
Is our home
And we may have done a little bit
Of fightin’ amongst ourselves
But you outside people best
Leave us alone
‘Cause we’ll all stick together
And you can take that to the bank
That’s the cowboys
And the hippies
And the rebels
And the yanks
You just go and lay your hand
On a Pittsburg Steelers fan
And I think
You’re gonna finally understand

And you never did think
That it every would happen again
In America
Did you
You never did think
That we’d ever get together again
But we damn sure could
We’re walkin’ real proud
And we’re talkin’ real loud again
In America
You never did think
That it ever would happen again

And you never did think
That it every would happen again
In America
Did you
You never did think
That we’d ever get together again
But we damn sure could
We’re walkin’ real proud
And we’re talkin’ real loud again
In America
You never did think
That it ever would happen again

Come Monday...Politics As Usual

“Come Monday…” is a weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about, websites, movies, documentaries, television shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time. Be assured that these reviews will be generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.” This is subject to change, however. In fact, I would be most derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while. For rants promote change, and change can be good—right? Therefore, since good is generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).

Last Thursday (June 24th), the [CBS Evening News] broadcast a report about how few of the authorized National Guard troops available have actually been deployed to help with the clean-up of the massive [BP] oil spill down in the [Gulf of Mexico], and I was absolutely shocked. For out of the 17,500 available troops, only 1,640 had been deployed. The state by state breakdown of that was 1,053 out of 6,000 for Louisiana, 58 out of 6,000 for Mississippi, 432 out of 3,000 for Alabama and 97 out of 2,500 for Florida.

No, I cannot naturally blame you a bit for being quite skeptical. For it defies reason, but you can go [here] to check it out for yourself.

On the hand, it all makes perfect sense. For the more damage that is wrought, the worse it becomes for [President Obama], and that would be in the best interest of all who do not want see him reelected.

It should be easy to see. For the governors of [Louisiana], [Mississippi] and [Alabama] are all [Republicans], and the governor of [Florida] is a former Republican.

Yes, I could be sorely mistaken. For it was reported in that CBS Evening News segment that it is out of a fear of scaring off tourists that the governors of Alabama and Florida have been reluctant to deploy all of their available troops, and CBS is notorious for being unabashedly liberal (as in generally being anti-Republican) in their coverage.

Furthermore, it could also be simply a matter of costing too much, but that doesn’t track. For BP is supposed to be picking up the tab.

Ah, but maybe it is still a matter of being unaffordable? For the more it costs BP, the closer to bankruptcy they become, and the last thing President Obama wants is to lose even more jobs in this economy.

Yes, he could blame it all on the Republicans. For while [President Bush] was in office, oversight of the oil industry became rather lax—at best.

To be quite honest about it, I have been enthusiastically in favor of drilling for oil as much as possible, and I generally considered it to be asinine to impose so many rules on the industry. However, I had no idea that such a disaster was even possible.

No, I do not see it happening anytime soon (if ever), but I do believe the time has come for us to do away with our two party system. In fact, I would like to see the end of all political parties. For too many policies have been implemented based solely upon what is in the best interest of the party—not the country, and adding even more political parties to the mix would just spread the malaise over a greater area.

Yes, it could be argued that this would be just opening another can of worms. For instead of something being in the best interest of the Republican or [Democratic] Party, having no party affiliations would invariable lead to cults of personality, but haven’t we gone there already (i.e.: [Reaganomics])?

A Sunday Drive

Back during my childhood, our parents would often load up my brother and I after Sunday morning church services for a leisurely drive around where we lived. Even though we were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them, and this is why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a weekly series revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again. Real M'n'C - XII

The second book in line on FishHawk Droppings is [The Minister & The Crackerhead], and it is a fictitious account of an encounter between a more devoutly religious person (The Minister) and myself (The Crackerhead), based upon real events.  This series will be just like it—only these encounters will be real.  Granted, some of the text will have been changed in an effort to protect both the innocent and the guilty, but none of that will change anything about what was being conveyed.  No, none of this is meant to cast aspersions towards anyone, nor to make myself good.  In fact, be assured that I have been made all too painfully aware of the fact that most will not get the point of any of this.  For only those who have been allowed and enabled to understand can, but just how many who can will want to?  Therefore, if you have a question or an observation, please speak up—even if you sincerely believe that I may very well be one of Satan’s worst.

The Minister: I am empowered to bind, to loose and to decree things and the Bible says wherever my voice is heard no one can ask me why.

The Crackerhead: Please forgive me if my question is not allowed, but I would really like to know what you mean by that?

The Minister: Feel free to ask me any question you wish.
1 The Bible tells me in the book of [Matthew 16:19] I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
[Matthew 18:18-19] "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.  Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven."
2 Bible says wherever my voice is heard no one can ask me why.
[2 Samuel 22:45 KJV] Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.
[2 Samuel 22:45-46 NIV] And foreigners come cringing to me; as soon as they hear me, they obey me.  They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds.

The Crackerhead: How does this apply in your daily life—both naturally and spiritually?  By naturally, I mean in regards to the living of your life in this world, and and by spiritually, I mean in regards to your daily walk with Christ.

The Minister: First of all, I believe that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.  For this message to be true... then the works, ordinances, commandments and even decrees of Christ is still very much the same every day.
That said, in my Life's journey, I have had to decree certain things according to the Bible and surely the Lord brought them to pass to the Glory of His Name.
As for the part of "when the strangers hear my voice...." I wouldn't want to believe that you do not believe in evil spirits and which we call strangers in the Spiritual sense.  When the Bible talks about evil occupation, it could be your house, your soul, your body and when you command them in The Mighty Name Of Jesus, they will flee from their hiding places take this verse for an example ... [Matthew 12:43-45] “When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.  Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order.  Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation."
Or rather, what would you call unfamiliar person or spirit, even an unwanted spirt or person?  I would call it a stranger!
So Jesus gave us power to keep our spirit/souls/body clean by the Spirit of God. I believe that is why the gifts of the Spirit were given to us because He knows we wouldn't be able to do it alone.

The Crackerhead: Please forgive me for being so late with my reply.  For I should have said something about needing to wait for further instructions on how to properly respond after recognizing that we are worlds apart on this issue days ago.
To be quite honest about it, I am still not absolutely sure.  For I know that what I have been given to say is not what you want to hear at this time; but since [this] has been already posted, I do not want to appear to be disingenuous.  Therefore, I hope that you will still want to believe that I only trying to help, and that I am not your enemy.
No, I cannot really blame you for naturally not wanting to accept what I have been given to say.  For what help can someone who appears to be in the hands of an angry God possibly be to someone who has been so richly blessed as you and your family have been?  On the other hand, please do not discount the fact that the Apostle Paul was beheaded by the Romans after spending the last years of his earthly life in chains.
By the way, the post that I provided a link to is a little off-topic, but it does address the crux of the matter at hand.  I hope you will also check-out [Spiritual Warfare], [Demonic Possession] and [Sheltered Lives] when you are given the time.

Sites To See

The SOLE purpose of this weekly series is to call attention to sites that I think many would find most interesting—in one way or another. Just to be clear, inclusion in this series is not necessarily meant as a recommendation, and I have included sites that are rather disturbing to me. The link below each image is to the site itself, and each image is linked to the particular post from which it was taken when applicable. Please, go see for yourself.

Stevie Nicks vs. Weird Al Yankovic

Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around
Stevie Nicks (With Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers)
Baby you’ll come knockin’
On my front door
Same old line
You used to use before
That’s the game well
What am I supposed to do
I didn’t know
What I was getting’ into

So you’ve had a little trouble in town
Now you’re keepin’ some demons down
Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my heart around

It’s hard to think about
What you’ve wanted
It’s hard to think about
What you’ve lost
This doesn’t have to be
The big get even
This doesn’t have to be
Anything at all

I know you really want
To tell me goodbye
I know you really want
To be your own girl

Baby you could never look my in the eye
Yeah you buckle with
The weight of the words
Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my heart around

There’s people runnin’ around
Loose in the world
Ain’t got nothin’
Better to do
Than make a meal of some
Bright-eyed kid
You need someone
Lookin’ after you

I know you really want
To tell me goodbye
I know you really want
To be your own girl

Baby you could never look me in the eye
Yeah you buckle with
The weight of the words
Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my heart around

Stop draggin’ my heart around

Stop draggin’ my heart around

Stop draggin’ my heart around

Stop Draggin’ My Car Around
Weird Al Yankovic
Had to park my car
For just five minutes
I had to go inside
To use the phone
When I came back again
My car was gone
Well I didn’t know
It was a loadin’ zone
What a bummer
I was so brought down
I had to chase that tow truck
All over town
Yellin’

Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my car around

Took my baby to
The local disco
I was jumpin’
Like a maniac
But the owner came
And pulled me off the floor
The he
He took me to his little office in the back
He said
I really like your snaggletooth necklace
Your pants are groovy
And your hair’s okay
But man
That car of yours is so uncool
Like wow I’m sorry
But we towed it away

Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my car around

Now I’m at home
I’m watchin’ Gilligan’s Island
Guess it’s time
To trade my old car in
For twenty dollars
And my ’64 Plymouth
Maybe I could get a
Second-hand Schwinn
Look out the window
There’s a tow truck in the driveway
I grabbed the driver
And I asked him why
He said I’m sorry kid
You’re late with the payments
It’s time to kiss
Your little car goodbye

Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin’ my
Stop draggin my car around

Stop draggin’ my car around
Listen
The check’s in the mail
No really
Stop draggin’ my car around
Oh man
I just got the hub caps painted
Stop draggin’ my car around
Hey hey
I left a sandwich in the backseat
Stop draggin’ my car around
Oh

Stop draggin’ my car around

WhiteHeart Wednesday

MP3 Audio Player From: [BlogDumps Video]

Jesus
WhiteHeart
Stop do you hear
There’s something in the distance
That is rumbling
I wonder could it be
The sound of prison walls
As they are crumbling
In case you hadn’t noticed
Dead hearts locked up tight
As graves are opening
It’s not political
Not economical
Not theological
Oh it’s Spiritual
It’s Spiritual
It’s Spiritual

It is Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
One faith
One hope
One love
One Lord
Jesus

I wanna make it clear
The Spirit in me
Moved me to redemption
I wanna make it know
That anyone can
Feel this revelation
Oh this is radical
Don’t call it magical
But it’s a miracle
The way this love
Flows
And flows
And flows
And flows

It is Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
One faith
One hope
One love
One Lord
One way
One truth
One life
One Lord
Jesus

It is Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
One faith
One hope
One love
One Lord
Oh Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
One way
One truth
One life
One Lord
Jesus

TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Fire On The Mountain
The Marshall Tucker Band
Took my family away from my
Carolina home
Had dreams about the West
And started to roam
Six long months on a
Dust covered trail
They say Heaven’s at the end
But so far it’s been Hell

And there’s
Fire on the mountain
Lightnin’ in the air
Gold in them hills
And it’s waitin’ for me there

We were diggin’ and siftin’
From five to five
Sellin’ everything we found
Just to stay alive
Gold flowed free
Like the whiskey in the bars
Sinnin’ was the big thing Lord
And Satan was His star

And there’s
Fire on the mountain
Lightnin’ in the air
Gold in them hills
And it’s waitin’ for me there

Dance hall girls were the
Evenin’ treat
Empty cartridges and blood lie in
The gutters of the street
Men were shot down
For the sake of fun
Or just to hear the noise
Of their forty-four guns

And there’s
Fire on the mountain
Lightnin’ in the air
Gold in them hills
And it’s waitin’ for me there

Now my widow
She weeps by my grave
Tears flow free for her man
She couldn’t save
Shot down in cold blood
By a gun that carried fame
All for a useless and no good
Worthless claim

And there’s
Fire on the mountain
Lightnin’ in the air
Gold in them hills
And it’s waitin’ for me there
Fire on the mountain
Lightin’ in the air
Gold in them hills
And it’s waitin’ for me there
Waitin’ for me there

Can’t You See
The Marshall Tucker Band
Gonna take a freight train
Down at the station Lord
I don’t care
Where it goes
Gonna climb a mountain
The highest mountain Lord
Jump off
Ain’t nobody gonna know

Can’t you see
Oh Lord can’t you see
What that woman
Lord she’s been doin’ to me
Can’t you see
Can’t you see
What that woman
Oh she’s been doin’ to me

I’m gonna find me
A hole in the wall
I’m gonna crawl inside
And die
‘Cause my lady now
A mean ol’ woman Lord
Never even told me goodbye

Can’t you see
Oh Lord can’t you see
What that woman Lord
Oh she’s been doin’ to me
Can’t you see
Can’t you see
What that woman Lord
Oh she’s been doin’ to me

Gonna buy a ticket
As far as I can
I ain’t a-never
Comin’ back
Gonna take that freight train
And I’m goin’ to Washington
I ain’t never
Comin’ back

Can’t you see
Oh Lord can’t you see
What that woman
Oh she’s been doin’ to me
Can’t you see
Can’t you see
What that woman
Oh she’s been doin’ to me

Can’t you see
Well Lord can’t you see
What that woman
Oh she’s been doin’ to me
Can’t you see
Can’t you see
What that woman
Oh she’s been doin’ to me
Can’t you see
Oh Lord
Can’t you see
She’s a crazy lady
What that woman
Oh she’s been doing to me
Can’t you see
I don’t think I can stand it
Can’t you see
To last to tomorrow
What that woman
Oh she’s been doin’ to me
Can’t you see
Oh I’m gonna take a freight train
Can’t you see
Down at the station Lord
What that woman
Ain’t never
She’s been doin’ to me
Comin’ back
Can’t you see
Gonna ride me a southbound
Can’t you see
All the way to Georgia Lord
What that woman
‘Til the train
She’s been doing to me
It run outta track

Come Monday...Boy Howdy!

Well, I have been wanting to get on with my pieces about my favorite science fiction television shows for around a month now, but something keeps coming up. Yeah, it has happened again.

Okay, not really. For my wife and I have been all-a-twitter over my son coming to live with us tomorrow, and this is something to go all-a-twitter over. For she has never met him, and I haven’t seen him since he was around four and a half years old.

On the other hand, our household is almost always all-a-twitter over something. So, that is really not a very good excuse.

I really don’t think you-all will mind too much, however. For while watching episodes of [Babylon 5] that I taped back in 2000, a commercial for [TiVo] came on, which stars [Joe Montana] and [Ronnie Lott] of the [San Francisco 49ers] glory days.
