This weekly series will include as many of my all-time
favorite (ATF) tunes as I can get my grubby little hands on (so to speak). Now, each one included in each edition will
have some connection with the other—albeit only as a figment of my imagination,
but they will not be numbered. For I
just cannot bring myself to rate some higher than others. So, this will not be a countdown, but if you
are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter. Besides, with no countdown, this could go on forever
and ever! Oh, and despite the fact that
there is absolutely no way that your musical tastes can be as exquisite as
mine, I welcome any suggestions you might dare to make. For I am, after all, quite magnanimous by
nature.

Don’t Look Back
Boston
Don't look back
A new day is breakin’
It's been too long
Since I felt this way
I don't mind
Where I get taken
The road is callin’
Today is the day
I can see
It took so long
Just to realize
I'm much too strong
Not to compromise
Now I see what I am
Is holdin’ me down
I'll turn it around
Oh oh
Yes I will
I
Finally see the dawn arrivin’
I
See beyond the road I'm drivin’
It's a bright horizon
And I'm awakened
I see myself
In a brand new way
The sun is shinin’
The clouds are breakin’
‘Cause I can't lose now
There's no game to play
I can tell
There's no more time left
To criticize
I've seen what
I could not recognize
Everything in my life
Was leading me on
But I can be strong
Oh oh
Yes I can
I
Finally see the dawn arrivin’
I
See beyond the road I'm drivin’
Oh oh
Far away
And left behind
Left behind
Oh the sun is shinin’ in
And I won’t let go
Don't look back
A new day is breakin’
Oh oh
It's been so long
Since I felt this way
I don't mind
Where I get taken
The road is callin’
Today is the day
I can see
It took so long
Just to realize
I'm much too strong
Not to compromise
Now I see what I am
Is holding me down
I'll turn it around
Oh oh
Yes I will
I
Finally see the dawn arrivin’
I
See beyond the road I'm drivin’
Oh oh
Far away
And left behind
Don’t look back
Don’t look back
Don’t look back
Don’t look back

Don’t Stop
Fleetwood Mac
If you wake up
And don't want to smile
If it takes
Just a little while
Open your eyes
And look at the day
You'll see things
In a different way
Don't
Stop
Thinkin’ about tomorrow
Don't
Stop
It'll soon be here
It'll be
Better than before
Yesterday's gone
Yesterday's gone
Why not think about
Times to come
And not about
The things that you've done
If your life was
Bad to you
Just think
What tomorrow will do
Don't
Stop
Thinkin’ about tomorrow
Don't
Stop
It'll soon be here
It'll be
Better than before
Yesterday's gone
Yesterday's gone
All I want is
To see you smile
If it takes
Just a little while
I know you don't
Believe that it's true
I never meant
Any harm to you
Don't
Stop
Thinkin’ about tomorrow
Don't
Stop
It'll soon be here
It'll be
Better than before
Yesterday's gone
Yesterday's gone
Don't
Stop
Thinkin’ about tomorrow
Don't
Stop
It'll soon be here
It'll be
Better than before
Yesterday's gone
Yesterday's gone
Oooh
Don't you look back
Oooh
Don't you look back
Oooh
Don't you look back
Oooh
Don't you look back

I LOOOOOVE Boston. AND Fleetwood Mac. Most excellent choices today! Rock on!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Shadow!!! I think it was sometime in March of 1976 when I first heard Boston's More Than A Feeling, and I become a HUGE fan of the band right then and there! Be assured that I was thrilled when their second album, which opened with Don't Look Back, was every bit as good to me as their first one, which started off with More Than A Feeling, but I was rather disappointed with having to wait over five years for their third album to come out and it not being as good to me as their first two.,
DeleteI had the Fleetwood Mac Rumors album. I listened to that one a lot. I always liked Boston too. Amanda was one of my favorites
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! Yes, Boston's Amanda is from their third album, and it ain't too bad at all. Alas, I was so disappointed during the 1978(?) Grammy Award as Fleetwood Mac beat out ELO in every category they were both nominated for. Despite my continued love for ELO, I no longer begrudge Fleetwood Mac for winning those Grammys. In fact, I would have been cheering back then if I was as I am now.
DeleteI tend to think about the music more than the lyrics but I'm always impressed by the words when I read them on your blog. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Stephen!!! Alas, there have been far too many songs I have rocked out to over the years without having all that much of a clue about the actual lyrics.
DeleteNice. Thanks for sharing the lyrics as well. Made it more fun to listen to.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Lady Lilith!!! Alas, if only Honey Swamp could have been more familiar with these songs... (LOL?)
DeleteWhat a classic album "Rumours" is. Wonderful...and it still holds up today.
ReplyDeleteBoth great bands/groups. Thanks. :)
Thanks for stopping by, my dear Lee!!! Yes, I cannot recall there being one bad song to Rumors.
