A Sunday Drive

Back during my childhood, our parents would often load up my brother and me after Sunday morning church services for a leisurely drive around where we lived.  Even though we were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them, and this is why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a weekly series revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again.  The link below the image is to the site itself, and the image is linked to the post it was first included in here.

  1. I wish I had time today but we are heading out son for a real Sunday drive.

We decided to stay down here one more day.

That was a chicken and a ham. I tried to get Bill to leave them in tact and carve at the table but you know how you men are.

The pictures would have looked so much better. Although, I am never very good with food pictures!!

    Have a great day Jerry!

  2. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Jackie!!! My wife keeps telling me that if we knew how we were, we would know better. What does that mean, anyway?

  9. Thanks so much for including my blog in your "Sunday Drive" post!!I really appreciate that!
And yes, I do remember those days...my mom was sick and could not walk and going for a Sunday drive was a big deal. Times have changed though, after driving to work all week and with the cost of gas, nobody drives for fun anymore. Great idea for your blog though. Hope you all had a beautiful and blessed Christmas.

  11. Looks like a very good selection today. However Duke wanted me to mention that he's not pleased that "Cat lovers site" topped your list. He thought that surely a dog site should top the order.

  13. Ah yes, I remember Sunday drives. I've thought about doing a post on them when the weather warms up, though we took them all year 'round. Interesting pictures!

  14. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Please tell Duke that I am very sorry. The rules say that I have to go in alphabetical order, and "C" comes before "H" (as in HoundsGood). Yes, I suppose I could have looked for a puppy site that started with an "A" or a "B," but that would break the calendar rule, which could cause a tear in the time/space continuum (I am told). In consolation, I hope he can focus on the fact that HoundsGood shows a puppy standing in harms way for the good of us all while the Cat Lovers Site has a kitty just laying there looking pretty.

  15. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Oyvind!!! I hope it snows as much as you want as long as you promise to keep much of it over there.

  16. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Gorges!!! Wow, you have a truly wonderful site, and I have added it to the list for a future Sites To See here, which means that it will also be included in this series when the time comes. I will let you know when it is actually included in the Sites To See, which will be a while because of how many were already on the list. In the meantime, I hope all who see this comment will go see what I am talking about at http://gorges-smythe.blogspot.com/

  17. Oh FishHawk I feel selfish then! Oh ok, since it is you who asks. :)

  18. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Oyvind. Well, I am quite sure that millions on our east coast would say that it is a moot point now, and as long as it is not getting dumped on my head, I say, "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"

  19. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw 60 inches of snow in 30 seconds on the news, no infrastructure can handle that very good - I hope everyone is ok over there.

  20. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Oyvind!!! I missed that report, but I saw another where they showed time-lapsed footage of over 30 inches piling up on a picnic table in someone's backyard in New Jersey. That same broadcast said that the strength of the storm was equivalent to Category 3 hurricane!
