A Sunday Drive

Back during my childhood, our parents would often load up my brother and me after Sunday morning church services for a leisurely drive around where we lived.  Even though we were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them, and this is why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a weekly series revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again.  The link below the image is to the site itself, and the image is linked to the post it was first included in here.

  1. ah, memories of the Sunday drive - my dad loved to drive and take the scenic routes everywhere on Sundays, with my sister and brother and I all crowded into the back seat, pushing and breathing on each other. Then my sister would claim car sickness and get to sit up front, and my brother and I could ride in luxury. Kids today with the spacious vans don't know the fun they're missing lol. Have a great Sunday

  2. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Chris!!! Hey, that was me who always had to ride upfront because of car sickness, and there no faking about it! I can't remember just exactly when, but I just stopped getting car sick one day. Thanks for sharing such a great memory of a simpler time!

  3. I can't go riding with you this morning. I never made it into town yesterday. so today is the day.

I need grain for my birds, ducks and geese, food for myself and the cats.

But, most especially, I really enjoy taking a little time on Sundays driving the back roads and just enjoying God's creation!

Blessings of peace to you for a lovely day too!

  4. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Jackie!!! We've got snow and ice with the wind blowing around 200 miles per hour when it's not gusting up here today. So, I'd stay down there if I were you, but I certainly appreciate you checking in!

  5. that's a cute pic of Julie. good to see your sunday drive by's still peaceful. (wink*wink) we're just getting the snow and it's pretty but absolutely not something I'm looking forward to going out in. especially after looking at the news and seeing what's in your neighborhood.

  6. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear BadGal!!! Well, we caught the backside of the front, and it is really not all that bad here. I think we've got around 2 inches so far, but the wind is really whipping things up. Don't be playing no bumper cars with your shiny red Beemer!

  11. You are most welcome, and thanks for being so considerate, my dear Mama Ko!!! It wouldn't be a problem at all if there was some way to keep it from coming on automatically. I am sorry for being so irritable.
