TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Hey Hey What Can I Do
Led Zeppelin
Wanna tell you about the girl I love
My she looks so fine
She’s the only one that I’ve been dreamin’ of
Maybe someday she will be all mine
I wanna tell her that I love her so
I thrill with her every touch
I need to tell her
She’s the only one I really love

I got a woman
Wanna ball all day
I got a woman
She won’t be true no
I got a woman
Stay drunk all the time
I said I got a little woman
And she won’t be true

Sunday mornin’ when we go down to church
See the menfolk standin’ in line
They say they come to pray to the Lord
But when my little girl looks so fine
In the evenin’ when the sun is sinkin’ low
Everybody’s with the one they love
I walk the town
Keep a-searchin’ all around
Lookin’ for my street corner girl

I got a woman
Wanna ball all day
I got a woman
She won’t be true no no
I got a woman
Stay drunk all the time
I said I got a little woman
And she won’t be true

In the bars
With the men who play guitars
Singin’
Drinkin’
And rememberin’ the time
My little lover does a midnight shift
She’s followed around all the time
I guess there’s just one thing left for me to do
Gonna pack my bags
And move on my way
‘Cause I got a worried mind
Sharin’ what I thought was mine
Gonna leave her where the guitars play

I got a woman
She won’t be true no no
I got a woman
Wanna ball all day yeah yeah
No no
I got a woman
Stay drunk all the time
I got a little woman
And she won’t be true

Hey hey
What can I do
I said she won’t be true
No
Yeah
No
Yeah
No
Yeah
No
Yeah
No
Hey hey
What can I do
No
Yeah
No
Hey hey
What can I do
Keep on
Keep on
Keep on
Keep on
Hey hey
What can I do
Keep on
Keep on
Hey hey
What can I do
Hey hey
What can I do
Hey hey
What can I do

Stairway To Heaven
Led Zeppelin
There’s a lady
Who’s sure
All that glitters is gold
And she’s buying
The stairway
To Heaven
When she gets there
She knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get
What she came for

Oooh oooh
And she’s buying
The stairway
To Heaven

There’s a sign on the wall
But she wants to be sure
‘Cause you know sometimes words
Have two meanings
In a tree by the brook
There’s a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts
Are misgiven

Oooh
It makes me wonder

Oooh
It makes me wonder

There’s a feeling I get
When I look to the west
And my spirit is cryin’
For leavin’
In my thoughts I have seen
Rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those
Who stand lookin’

Oooh
It makes me wonder

Oooh
It really makes me wonder

And it’s whispered that soon
If we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us
To reason
And a new day will dawn
For those who stand long
And the forests will echo
With laughter

Oh oh oh oh oh oh

If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow
Don’t be alarmed now
It’s just a spring clean
For the May queen
Yes there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run
There’s still time to change
The road you’re on

And it makes me wonder

Aaah ah

Your head is hummin’
And it won’t go
In case you don’t know
The piper’s callin’ you to join him
Dear lady can you hear the wind blow
And did you know
Your stairway lies
On the whisperin’ wind

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all yeah
To be a rock
And not to roll

And she’s buying
The stairway
To Heaven

  1. Hi FishHawk, here I am with you to commmentare this beautiful song. Stairway to Heaven is a popular song by British group Led Zeppelin, and one of the most famous in the history of rock music. It was published in 1971 in the fourth album, Led Zeppelin IV. I think it is the best rock song of all time. Congratulations for your choice, David

  2. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear David!!! Yes, "Stairway To Heaven" is about as close to being the perfect song as any ever recorded to me. For it starts out real slow with acoustic guitars, hits another gear when the drums kick in, goes into overdrive when Jimmy Page cranks up his electric guitar, and then rolls to a gentle stop.

  4. I haven't heard or even thought about Led Zeppelin in years. It was interesting to read the lyrics.

God bless you and have a good week

  5. I am a rock and roll fan big time. However, I never did really get into Led Zeppelin.

Stairway to heaven is about the only song they did that I really like.

They do just a little too much screaming for me when they sing.

    Have a great day Jerry!

  6. I scrolled to the first song and I was about to go into a full rant about featuring Led Zepplin and not using Stairway to heaven. Luckily you had that as the second song or Duke would have been barking at your door

  8. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ron!!! Yes, there is much in their lyrics that I never got before, and this applies to a great many of their songs.

  9. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Jackie!!! I was the same way for many years. In fact, when they were in their heyday, "Stairway To Heaven" and "Whole Lotta Love" were the only two songs of theirs that I really liked, but that has changed dramatically. "Hey Hey What Can I Do" is a good example of that.

  10. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Well, I'm sure glad I included it. For I certainly wouldn't want to get on Duke's bad-side. I hope you did more than just scroll through the lyrics of "Hey Hey What Can I Do." For it has a country/rock sound to it that I could listen to all day long.

  11. Did you play that on backwards looking for hidden messages perhaps?
