TWO FOR TUESDAY

Link: [Outlaws]

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Ghost Riders In The Sky
Outlaws
An old cowpoke went ridin’ out
One dark and windy day
Upon a ridge he rested
As he went along his way
When all at once a mighty herd
Of red-eyed steers he saw
A plowin’ through the ragged skies
And up a cloudy draw

Their brands were still on fire
And their hooves were made of steel
Their horns were black and shiny
And their hot breath he could feel
As they thundered through the sky
He saw the riders comin’ hard
And he heard their mournful cry

Yippie I aye
Yippie I oh
Ghost riders in
Ghost riders in the sky

Yippie I aye
Yippie I oh
Ghost riders in
Ooh ooh
The sky

The riders loped on by him
He heard one call his name
If you want to save your soul from Hell
A-ridin’ on our range
Then cowboy change your ways today
Or with us you will ride
Chasin’ the devil’s cowherd
Across these endless skies

Yippie I aye
Yippie I oh
Ghost riders in
Ghost riders in the sky
Ghost riders in
Ghost riders in the sky

Ghost riders in the sky

There Goes Another Love Song
Outlaws
Sometimes I feel
I am getting’ kind of low
Thoughts I am thinkin’
Are the reason so
I try to remember
Without talkin’ to myself
Things that I said
Or maybe things that I felt
About you

Sittin’ in the corner
Of a crowded barroom
People all around me
And I still feel alone
Just when I know I’m goin’
To break down and cry
Someone plays a tune that dries
The tear from my eye

There goes another love song
Someone’s singin’ about me again
There goes another love song
Now I need more than a friend

Lonesome and lonely
And far from my home
Tryin’ to get back
To where I know I belong
Wishin’ and hopin’
I was already there
I just heard a voice
Whispered in my ear
Singin’

There goes another love song
Someone’s singin’ about me again
There goes another love song
Now I need more than a friend

Do do do
Do do
Do do do
Do do
Do do do
Do do
Do do do
Do do

There goes another love song
Someone’s singin’ about me again
There goes another love song
Now I need more than a friend
I said
There goes another love song
Someone’s singin’ about me again
There goes another love song
Now I need more than a friend

  1. I just read your comment from last week.I went back to read what I wrote, and... I AM SO SORRY!!!! I did not mean to put "sister"! I am embarrassed to say the least! I hope you forgive me!

    GOD bless you!

  2. I've never really listened to the Outlaws so I don't really know either of these songs. I like the second better than the first.

  3. I remember the first one - not the second one. Sandie

  4. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Donna!!! Be assured that it is all-right. For I often write things that I don't mean to, and proof-reading seldom helps.

  5. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! I remember the last song from "back in the day," but I don't remember it being one of theirs. I'm glad you liked it. Be assured that I am all too painfully familiar with feeling all alone in the middle of a crowded bar.

  6. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Sandie!!! Yes, you couldn't consider yourself to be a true daughter of the south, nor the west, if you were not intimately familiar with Ghost Riders In The Sky.

  7. I'm not much into The Outlaws but the lyrics is interesting. :)

I too like the second one better than the first.

  8. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Oyvind!!! The last verse in this version is actually the fourth verse to Ghost Riders In The Sky, and the third verse is left out. While searching for a video for the song, I found versions that had either one or the other, but none with both. The verse that was left out of this version is as follows:

    Their faces are gaunt
    Their eyes were blurred
Their shirts all soaked with sweat
They're ridin' hard to catch that herd
But they 'aint caught 'em yet
'Cause they've got to ride forever
In the range up in the sky
    On horses snortin' fire
As they ride hard hear them cry
