TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Simple Man
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Mama told me
When I was young
Come sit beside me
My only son
And listen closely
Oh baby
To what I say
And if you do this
It’ll help you
Some sunny day

Ah yeah

I’ll be your simple man

Oh take your time
Don’t live too fast
Troubles will come
Oh and they will pass
Go find a woman
Oh baby
And you’ll find love
And don’t forget son
There is someone
Up above

And be a simple
Kind of man
Oh be something
You love and understand
Baby be a simple
Be a simple man
Oh won’t you do this
For me son
If you can

Forget your lust
For the rich man’s gold
All that you need
Oh is in your soul
And you can do this
Oh baby
If you try
All that I want for you my son
Is to be satisfied

And be a simple
Kind of man
Oh be something
You love and understand
Baby be a simple
Be a simple man
Oh won’t you do this
For me son
If you can

Oh yes I will

I’ll be your simple man

Boy don’t you worry
You’ll find yourself
Follow your heart
Oh not the miles
You can do this
Oh baby
If you try
All that I want for you my son
Is to be satisfied

And one more thing

And be a simple
Kind of man
Oh be something
You love and understand
Oh baby be a simple
Be a simple man
Oh won’t you do this
For me child
If you can

Oh baby be a simple
Baby be a simple
Kind of man
Oh be something
You love and understand
Oh baby be a simple
Be a simple man
Oh won’t you do this
For me son
If you can

Oh mama you know I will

I’ll be the very best I can

Tuesday’s Gone
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Train roll on
On down the line
Won’t you
Please take me far
Away
Now I feel the wind blow
Outside my door
Means I’m
I’m leavin’ my woman
At home

Lord yeah
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Oh my baby’s gone
With the wind
The wind

And I don’t know
Oh where I’m goin’
I just want to be
Left alone
Well when this train ends
I’ll try again
But I’m leavin’ my woman
At home

Lord yeah
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
My baby’s gone
With the wind

Train roll on

Tuesday’s gone

Train roll on
Many miles from my home
See I’m
I’m ridin’ my blues
Away
Tuesday you see
She had to be free
Lord but
Somehow I’ve got to
Carry on

Lord yeah
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
My baby’s gone
With the wind

Train roll on
Oh on
Because my baby’s gone
I’m ridin’ my blues babe
Tryin’ to ride my blues babe
Ride on train
Ride on train
Ride my blues babe
Goodbye Tuesday
Goodbye Tuesday
Oh train

  3. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Um, Lynyrd Skynyrd is the name of the group--not an individual. (Does this mean that I got a bite coming from Duke?)

  4. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Sandie!!! Methinks that Ann has been a bad influence on you.

  5. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! What? Were you trying to say that these songs weren't bad, but just couldn't quite get there?
