Writing the original lyrics must have taken ages! I remember that from the days of long ago as I worked in the brewery at Roseburn. 1969 ish time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! Yeah, there isn't much to the lyrics, but this is still a great song--especially when one has a good buzz going!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I stop by almost every day with EC but don't think I ever commented before :) I have to that was a great post. I loved listening to the songs - both of them...and wow. Writing the lyrics must have taken ages!
ReplyDeleteTracy
Thanks for stopping by, my dear Tracy!!! Well, I actually took around an hour and a half after coping off the lyrics from Oldie Lyrics, which is linked to at the bottom. For I always re-type what I have copied off of a lyrics site because sometimes something weird will happen when I try to just post what was copied, and then I try to edit the lyrics that I have copied while listening to the song, which is where I ran into Mr. Idol free-stylin' for the audience in the video. Anyway, Billy did a really good job with the song, but I actually prefer Tommy James original version better.
ReplyDeleteHi Fishawk, Love this song, thanks for sharing it in two versions. Trying to catch up with some old but gold friends!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
Janet :)
Two great versions of a classic party song, I can't choose.
ReplyDeleteI like Tommy James and Billy Idol, but don't know the song! I must live under a rock! sandie
ReplyDeleteThis was a tough one. It was close but Tommy James wins out. Sorry Billy Idol :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer the original but I must confess to being a fan of Idols first band generation x.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Janet!!! I hope things are going better for you now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Dick!!! Yeah, Mony Mony has to be right up there with Louie Louie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Sandie!!! Well...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Hey, I seem to recall Adam Sandler saying the same thing to him.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Ryan!!! Oh yeah, I truly love White Wedding and Rebel Yell. That is, as long as I can just hear the songs and not see him and his group performing them. For I am too much of a fuddy-duddy to appreciate their punk persona(s) as much as others do.
