Living Sacrifice
WhiteHeart
You know
I’d almost given you up for dead
Sooner or later
Thought you’d put a gun to your head
Took a shot of this
A hit of that
Another wasted sacrifice
Dismissed the eternal
With a simple roll of the dice
Like a sheep with no shepherd
A dog without a bone
You dug up your own messiah
And tried to follow him home
Give your body
Give your mind
Give it all until you find
A zealot’s passion
An addict’s drive
Be a living sacrifice
Too many idols just keep on crashing down
So many heroes are ten feet underground
Oh leave the flowers by their graves
Don’t you know the price is paid
The ultimate sacrifice has been made
You’re a sheep with no shepherd
The dog without a bone
Bury the dead messiah
Follow the living One home
Give you body
Give your mind
Give it all until you find
A zealot’s passion
An addict’s drive
Be a living sacrifice
Give your body
Give your mind
Give it all until you find
A zealot’s passion
An addict’s drive
Be a living sacrifice
Give your body
Give your mind
Give it all until you find
A zealot’s passion
An addict’s drive
Be a living sacrifice
Give your body
Give your mind
Give it all until you find
A zealot’s passion
An addict’s drive
Be a living sacrifice
An addict’s drive
Be a living sacrifice
Be a living sacrifice

I think my brain has melted and it's me who doesn't know what to say today.
ReplyDeleteJust showing up means so very, very much, my dear Ann. Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteFishHawk - I never heard this one. it's fantastique. when did this come out ? why aren't there any music videos with WhiteHeart performing ? when did they break up and why ? so many questions.. I must admit, regardless of what I do on wednesdays, I'm HOOKED on WhiteHeart Wednesdays.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping again, my dear BadGal!!! I think the album this song is on came out in '94, and I don't know why they didn't make very many videos. I suppose they broke up because of being together so long. For they started out in the early 80's, but Billy Smiley, who is one of the founding members, is still going strong (I think). Anyway, I am really you like them.
ReplyDeleteP.S.: Dwacon knows a lot more about them than I do. So, you might do well to ask him.
