TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world.  For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion.  Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Highway Song
Blackfoot
Well
Another day
Another dollar
After I’ve sang and hollered
Oh it’s my way of living
And I can’t change a thing
Another town is drawing near
Oh baby I wish you were here
But the only way I can see you darlin’
Is in my dreams

It’s a highway song
You sing it on and on
On and on

Well the hurt you leave behind
It’s the hurt that’s on your mind
Oh and last night’s show
Took its toll on me
Well the city lights fly by me
As I lay my body in my bed
Oh and dreams of you
Dance through my head

It’s a highway song
You sing it on and on
On and on
Highway song
Is as lonely
As the road I’m on

It’s those big wheels are ready to roll
We’ve been flyin’ high and so low
Lord and all this madness
Ain’t as crazy as it seems
Everywhere they stop and stare
I’m just a stranger on this road
Oh I stand alone
Awake in my dreams

Highway song
You sing it on and on
On and on
Highway song
Is as lonely
As the road I’m on
Well
Highway song
Highway song
You sing it on and on
On and on
Highway song
Is as lonely
As the road I’m on

Train, Train
Blackfoot
Oh
Here it comes

Well train train
Take me on out of this town
Train train
Lord take on out of this town
Well that woman I’m in love with
Lord she’s Memphis-bound

Well leavin’ here
I’m just a raggedy hobo
Lord I’m leavin’ here
I’m just a raggedy hobo
Well that woman I’m in love with
Lord she’s got to go

Well goodbye pretty mama
Get yourself a money man
Goodbye pretty mama
Lord get yourself a money man
You take that midnight train to Memphis
Lord leave me if you can
Oh take that midnight train to Memphis
Lord leave me if you can
Oh take that train baby

  1. Wow, the blackfoot lead singer looks like the lead singer in Leonard Skinner.

  3. Well you did it again. You went and picked a couple more good ones. I enjoyed all those cars while I was listening to the first one.

  4. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Yeah, those were some pretty sweet Chevelles. Would you like to know just how stupid I have been in the past? Well, the first girl I had a fairly serious relationship with after my first wife ran me off was a fanatical Blackfoot fan, and I just thought that they were okay back then. Years later, I heard Highway Song over the radio, and it blew me away. Stupid! Stupid!! Stupid!!! By the way, I imagine that these are a couple of songs that your husband would like.
