Not every song that
will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian”
in the eyes of this world. For some will
be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously
ferverent rants of rebellion.
Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in
one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the
message.

Let Your Love Flow
The Bellamy Brothers
There’s a reason
For the sunshinin’
sky
And there’s a
reason
Why I’m feelin’ so
high
Must be the season
When that love
light shines
All around us
So let that feelin’
Grab you deep
inside
And send you
reelin’
Where your love
can’t hide
And then go
stealin’
Through the moonlit
nights
With your lover
Just let your love
flow
Like a mountain
stream
And let you love
grow
With the smallest
of dreams
And let your love
show
And you’ll know
what I mean
It’s the season
Let your love fly
Like a bird on a wing
And let your love
bind you
To all livin’
things
And let your love
shine
And you’ll know
what I mean
That’s the reason
There’s a reason
For the warm sweet
nights
And there’s a
reason
For the candlelights
Must be the season
When those love
lights
Shine all around us
See let that wonder
Take you into space
And I lay you under
It’s lovin’ embrace
Just feel the
thunder
As it warms your
face
You can’t hold back
Just let your love
flow
Like a mountain
stream
And let your love
grow
With the smallest
of dreams
And let your love
show
And you’ll know
what I mean
It’s the season
Let your love fly
Like a bird on a wing
And let your love
bind you
To all livin’
things
And let your love
shine
And you’ll know
what I mean
That’s the reason
Just let your love
flow
Like a mountain
stream
And let your love
grow
With the smallest
of dreams
And let your love
show
And you’ll know
what I mean
It’s the season
Let your love fly
Like a bird on a wing
And let your love
bind you
To all livin’
things
And let your love
shine
And you’ll know
what I mean
That’s the reason

Old Hippie
The Bellamy Brothers
He turned 35 last
Sunday
In his hair he
found some gray
But he still ain’t
changed his lifestyle
He likes it better
the old way
So he grows a
little garden
In the backyard by
the fence
He’s consumin’ what
he’s growin’
Nowadays in
self-defense
He gets out there
in the twilight zone
Sometimes
When it just don’t
make no sense
He gets off on
country music
‘Cause disco left
him cold
And he’s got young
friends in a new way
But he’s just too
frickin’ old
And he dreams at
night of Woodstock
And the Day John
Lennon died
How the music made
him happy
And the silence
made him cry
Yeah he thinks of John
sometimes
And he has to
wonder why
‘Cause he’s an old
hippie
And he don’t know
what to do
Should he hang on
to the old
Should he grab on
to the new
He’s an old hippie
This new life is
just a bust
He ain’t tryin’ to
change nobody
He’s just tryin’
real hard to adjust
He was sure back in
the sixties
That everyone was
hip
Then they sent him
off to Vietnam
On his senior trip
And they forced him
to become a man
While he was still
a boy
And behind each
wave of tragedy
He waited for the
joy
Now this world may
change around him
But he just can’t
change no more
‘Cause he’s an old
hippie
And he don’t know
what to do
Should he hang on
to the old
Should he grab on
to the new
He’s an old hippie
This new life is
just a bust
He ain’t tryin’ to
change nobody
He’s just tryin’
real hard to adjust
Well he stays away
a lot now
From the parties
and the clubs
And he’s thinkin’
while he’s joggin’ around
Sure is glad he
quit the hard drugs
‘Cause him and his
kind
Get more endangered
everyday
And pretty soon the
species
Will just up and
fade away
Like the smoke from
that torpedo
Just up and fade
away
Yeah he’s an old
hippie
And he don’t know
what to do
Should he hand on to
the old
Should he grab on
to the new
He’s an old hippie
This new life is
just a bust
He ain’t tryin’ to
change nobody
He’s just tryin’
real hard to adjust
Yeah he ain’t tryin’
to change nobody
He’s just tryin’
real hard to adjust

Had'nt heard the 2nd song before, enjoyed it. Impressive handlebar moustache.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Ryan!!! To tell you the truth, I hadn't heard either one of those songs, nor had any thoughts about The Bellamy Brothers, in years before thinking about what to match up with The Gatlin Brothers from last week. "Let Your Love Flow" was a big cross-over hit for them, and I fell in love with "Old Hippie" as soon as it hit the airways 30 some years ago (I think).
ReplyDeleteThe first one I know well the second I've never heard but I liked it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! I am ashamed to admit that I had forgotten all about "Old Hippie" until I saw it listed on YouTube. Anyway, I am really glad you liked it.
ReplyDeleteWots wrong with being an old hippie like?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! Not much, especially in respect to the kind they are singing about.
