TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

***WARNING***
Some may find the lyrics of the songs, and the imagery of the videos, quite disturbing. So, be prepared to close your eyes and ears at any moment, but please keep your heart and mind open.

Sometimes Wanna Die
Joydrop
Don’t worry about one thing
Don’t worry about nothing
She said
I’m not gonna let this one go
Nobody’s on my side
Nobody seems to see
How much
How deep
How far these things can be

My eyes are dry
And I
My eyes are dry
And I
I
Still don’t even know you
I
I
Still wish that I could hold you
I
I
Sometimes wanna die

And everywhere I go
And everyone I see
Somehow
Almost sets me free
And the space where we meet
Is different from the rest
And I just can’t seem to forget that

My eyes are dry
And I
I
Still don’t even know you
I
I
Still wish that I could hold you
I
I
Sometimes wanna die
I sometimes wanna die
I sometimes wanna

And you were at the start
And now you are at the end
And you left me with nothing to defend
I need the voice of a good friend

Can’t stop myself from laughing
No matter how sad
These things can be
These things can be

My eyes are bright
And I
I
Still don’t even know you
I
I
Still wish that I could hold you
I
I
Still don’t even know you
I
I
Sometimes wanna die
I sometimes wanna die
I sometimes wanna die
Yeah
I sometimes wanna die

I sometimes wanna die
I sometimes wanna die
I sometimes wanna die
I sometimes wanna die

Yeah
I sometimes wanna

Beautiful
Joydrop
If I was beautiful like you
Oh the things I would do
Those not so blessed
Would be crying out murder
And I’d just laugh
And get away with it
Like you do

If was beautiful like you
I would never be at fault
I’d walk in the rain
Between rain drops
Bringing traffic to a halt

But that would never be
That would never never be
‘Cause I’m not beautiful like you

I’m beautiful like me
I’m beautiful like me

If I was beautiful like you
I’d be quick to assume
They’d do anything to please me
Why not
I see their reaction
When you walk into the room

But that would never be
That would never never be
‘Cause I’m not beautiful like you

I’m beautiful like me
I’m beautiful like me

I’m
Beautiful like me
Beautiful like me
Like me

If I was beautiful like you
I’d have so many friends
All fighting for my time
To be next in line
So if I hurt one
I wouldn’t have to make amends

That would never be
That would never never be
‘Cause I’m not beautiful like you
I’m not beautiful like you
I’m not beautiful like you

I’m beautiful like me
I’m beautiful like me
I’m beautiful like me
I’m beautiful like me

I’m beautiful like me

  2. I'm not able right now to listen or reads the words to a popular song about I wanna die, my Mother just died 2 wks ago. I'm not closed minded, just can't do that right now.

The Travel blog has been a source of release for me...more pleasant times.

  3. You are most welcome, my dear Bob!!! Hey, Joydrop is even a Canadian band. Well, at least they were. For I think they are broken up now, but their music will go on.

  4. I understand, my dear Sandy. As I have told you before, I am so very sorry for your loss, and I hope our Heavenly Father will greatly comfort you.

  5. Wow, I haven't heard either of those tunes by Joydrop in quite a while. Definitely takes me back.

I actually saw them perform live in Portland, Maine in 2001 when they opened up for Our Lady Peace. It was a good show, too bad they aren't around anymore.

    Thanks for sharing! Rock on!

  6. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Frye!!! Joydrop was indeed a very entertaining band, and the lyrics to both of those songs say a whole lot more than what most hear.

I really enjoy your site, A Songwriter's Sanctum. It will be included in a future Sites To See here.

By the way, my wife and I live in Springfield, MO, which is around 200 miles south southeast of Lawrence. My dad was offered a scholarship to play basketball for Phog Allen at KU back in the 30's, but the great depression was still raging. So, he felt like going to work full-time after graduating high school was in the best interest of both himself and his family.
