This weekly series
will include as many of my all-time favorite tunes as I can get my grubby
little hands on (so to speak). Now, each
one included in each edition will have some connection with the other—albeit
only as a figment of my imagination, but they will not be numbered. For I just cannot bring myself to rate some
higher than others. So, this will not be
a countdown, but if you are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter. Besides, with no countdown, this could go on
forever and ever! Oh, and despite the
fact that there is absolutely no way that your musical tastes can be as
exquisite as mine, I welcome any suggestions that you might dare to make. I am, after all, quite magnanimous by nature.

Chicago
Can this feeling
that we have together
Oooh
Suddenly exist
Between
Did this meeting of
our minds together
Oooh
Happen just today
Somewhere
I'd like to know
Can you tell me
Please don't tell
me
It really doesn't
matter anyhow
It's just that the
thought of us so happy
Appears in my mind
As a beautifully
Mysterious thing
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Was your image in
my mind so deeply
Oooh
Other faces fade
away
Blocking memories
of unhappy hours
Oooh
Leaving just a
burning love
I'd like to know
Can you tell me
Please don't tell
me
It really doesn't
matter anyhow
It's just that the
thought of us so happy
Appears in my mind
As a beautifully
Mysterious thing
Yes it does
Now baby
Can this love that
we have found within us
Oooh
Suddenly exist
Between
Did we somehow try
to make it happen
Oooh
Was it just a
natural
Thing
I'd like to know
Can you tell me
Please don't tell
me
It really doesn't
matter anyhow
It's just that the
thought of us so happy
Appears in my mind
As a beautifully
Mysterious thing
Yes it does
Now baby

Foreplay/Long Time
Boston
It's been such a
long time
I think I should be
goin'
Yeah
And time doesn't
wait for me
It keeps on rollin'
Sail on
On a distant
highway
Yeah
I've got to keep on
chasin' a dream
I've gotta be on my
way
Wish there was
something I could say
Well I'm takin' my
time
I'm just movin' on
You'll forget about
me after I've been gone
And I take what I
find
I don't want no
more
It's just outside
of your front door
I don’t want more
It's been such a
long time
It's been such a
long time
Well I get so
lonely
When I am without
you
But in my mind
Deep in my mind
I can't forget
about you
Good times
And faces that
remind me
I'm tryin' to
forget your name
And leave it all
behind me
You're comin' back
to find me
Well I'm takin' my
time
I'm just movin' on
You'll forget about
me after I've been gone
And I take what I
find
I don't want no
more
It's just outside
of your front door
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
It's been such a
long time
It's been such a
long time
Yeah
It's been such a
long time
I think I should be
goin'
Yeah
And time doesn’t
wait for me
It keeps on rollin'
There's a long road
I've gotta stay in
time with
Yeah
I've got to keep on
chasin' that dream
Though I may never
find it
I'm always just
behind it
Well I'm takin' my
time
I'm just movin'
along
Takin' my time
Oh
Just movin' along
Takin' my time
Just takin’ my time
Takin' my time
Yeah
Takin’ my time
Oh
I’m about to move
on home
Takin’ my time
Takin’ my time
Takin’ my time
Takin’ my time

I frequently travel I-90 but I had no idea that this morning it would take me back to my high school years when Boston and Chicago were two of my favorites
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! I can honestly say that I-90 through your part of Pennsylvania is the best stretch of road I traveled over in the state.
