A Sunday Drive

Back during my childhood, our parents would often load up my brother and me after Sunday morning church services for a leisurely drive around where we lived.  Even though we were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them, and this is why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a weekly series revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again.  The link below the image is to the site itself, and the image is linked to the post it was first included in here.

  4. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Terri!!! Nope, but I found that there are lots of places that come awfully close during my travels behind the wheel of big rig years ago. Much to my shock at the time, one of them is the Delaware Water Gap region in western New Jersey!

  6. Your Sunday drive has gone to the dogs and that's just the way Duke likes it.

  7. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! Well, at least one of us is making an effort to bring some happiness into the life of a very sweet, loyal, courteous, kind, brave, clean and reverent puppy--you crafty person, you!

  8. Can someone please put all these dogs in the way back of the car--they are slobbering on me. blech.

Lots of dogs today, Fish. What's the deal?

Sorry I missed last week's drive...I've been on vacation. All this driving around wears a gal down, you know?

Good to be home and going on Sunday drives again. With or without the dogs.

  9. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Lin!!! It has been brought to my attention that one of the provisions to Obamacare is that cat people are to be kept on a very short leash out in public in order to fight against the spreading of "stuff," effective on October 31, 2013. So, it looks like the end of your back-seat driving, but I am afraid of your front-seat driving being worse. Sigh.

  10. My folks did that too - took us on a Sunday drive (back when gas was what? 30 cents a gallon?)

  11. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Tami!!! The cheapest gas I can remember is 14 cents a gallon at the end of a extraordinarily serious "gas war" between two business across the road from one another. Ball and Prier's was content to concede defeat when Shumaker's lowered their price to 14 cents because of knowing that Shumaker's was buying their gas for 14 and a half cents a gallon. They even went as far as to send all of their gas customers across the road to Shumaker's to buy as much gas at 14 cents a gallon as they could!

  18. Thanks so much for featuring my NewCreationz blog here! I have actually just got back from another trip to Fiji where we visited the same schools again. I am about to do a fresh blog post about that right now!

Oh and we also used to regularly do Sunday drives after church, especially when we were new to NZ with so much to discover!
