Since I have not been given much of a life to live in
this world, I watch an awful lot of television, which includes an awful lot of
commercials. Now, a “GOOD” ad is one
that holds my attention and makes me want to at least learn more about the
product or service it is for. A “BAD” ad
is one that quickly becomes nothing more than background noise when it cannot
be skipped over. “UGLY” ads are much
worse. For not only do they make we want
to never see them again, they make me want to never have anything to do with
the company that paid for them to be produced.
Of course, you may feel differently, but I sure wouldn’t say much about
it around anyone with a lick of sense.
For I am, after all, an expert on such things—albeit only in my own
mind!
GOOD
BAD
UGLY

I found all three of them baffling. What on earth were they going on about? OK I am English and I don't get this stuff.
ReplyDeleteWell, obviously.
I think the one that would have me actually physically throwing the TV out of the window, is the hipster trolls. I felt like screaming just watching them first time around.
i like flo. :)
ReplyDeletethe firestone was pretty cute - if not rude.
It's really funny, for me to be saying this, really because I am not a fan of commercials, (I know who is) but I seldom watch them, and even with hardly catching them, I find myself getting tired of like the Progressive Ins, as much as I liked her, really I did, but it's like Mike on the Ford spots, they just get old for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Jenny!!! The one here that really gets my blood to boiling is the Firestone people thinking that it will help them sell their car care service by glorifying incredibly rude behavior. For we already have way too many who could not care less about anyone else but themselves.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear TWG!!! Methinks they could have come up with at least a 100 different ways of depicting what a difference good car care can make than something that could your windows busted out in certain areas. Of course, if they also sell automotive glass...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Karen!!! Yes, there are a lot of bad (or worse) commercials out there that become immediately tiresome. Hence, the reason why two out or three categories here are not good.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I have also become quite tired of Flo from Progressive. This one with her in junior high school is not bad to me, however. Would you like to go with Arlynda the next time she goes on a Geico Gecko hunt?
Ads? I avoid them by recording programmes with ads and then fast forwarding when I come to watch them. Luckily, we still have TV channels without ads.
ReplyDeleteI also watch continental (European) channels without ads.
Much more civilised.
I am very particular about how I spend what little time I have. Also, I almost always fall asleep as soon as the TV goes on. So, I pretty much never see the ads.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Friko!!! Alas, our fast-forward button is about worn out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Simple Spirit!!! Methinks you might be related to my wife. (LOL?)
ReplyDeleteThat is Robert Downey Jr. in that second ad., isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Lee!!! Whoa, I was so focused on the stupid trolls, I completely missed that. Good catch!
