Holding Out For A
Hero
Bonnie Tyler
Where have all the
good men gone
And where are all
the gods
Where's the street
wise Hercules
To fight the rising
odds
Isn't there a white
knight
Upon a fiery steed
Late at night
I toss and I turn
And I dream of what
I need
I need a hero
I'm holding out for
a hero
‘Til the end of the
night
He's gotta be
strong
And he's gotta be
fast
And he's gotta be
fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for
a hero
‘Til the morning
light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be
soon
And he's gotta be
larger than life
Larger than life
Somewhere after
midnight
In my wildest
fantasy
Somewhere just
beyond my reach
There's someone
reaching back for me
Racing on the
thunder
And rising with the
heat
It's gonna take a superman
To sweep me off my
feet
I need a hero
I'm holding out for
a hero
‘Til the end of the
night
He's gotta be
strong
And he's gotta be
fast
And he's gotta be
fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for
a hero
‘Til the morning
light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be
soon
And he's gotta be
larger than life
I need a hero
I'm holding out for
a hero
‘Til the end of the
night
Up where the
mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the
lightning splits the sea
I could swear that
there's someone somewhere watching me
Through the wind
And the chill
And the rain
And the storm
And the flood
I can feel his
approach like a fire in my blood
I need a hero
I'm holding out for
a hero
‘Til the end of the
night
He's gotta be
strong
And he's gotta be
fast
And he's gotta be
fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for
a hero
‘Til the morning
light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be
soon
And he's gotta be larger
than life
I need a hero
I'm holding out for
a hero
‘Til the end of the
night

St. Elmo’s Fire
(Man in Motion)
John Parr
Growin' up
You don't see the
writin’ on the wall
Passin' by
Movin' straight
ahead
You knew it all
But maybe sometime
if you feel the pain
You'll find you're
all alone
Everything has
changed
Play the game
You know you can't
quit until it's won
Soldier on
Only you can do
what must be done
You know in some
way
You're a lot like
me
You're just a
prisoner
And you're tryin'
to break free
I can see a new
horizon
Underneath the
blazin' sky
I'll be where the
eagle's flyin’
Higher and higher
Gonna be your man
in motion
All I need is a
pair of wheels
Take me where my
future's lyin'
St. Elmo's fire
Ooh ooh ooh
Burnin’ up
Don't know just how
far that I can go
Just how far I go
Soon be home
Only just a few
miles down the road
I can make it
I know I can
You broke the boy
in me
But you won't break
the man
I can see a new
horizon
Underneath the
blazin' sky
I'll be where the
eagle's flyin’
Higher and higher
Gonna be your man
in motion
All I need is a
pair of wheels
Take me where my
future's lyin'
St. Elmo's fire
I can climb the
highest mountain
Cross the wildest
sea
I can feel St.
Elmo's fire
Burnin' in me
Burnin' in me
Just once in his
life
A man has his time
And my time is now
I'm comin’ alive
I can hear the
music playin'
I can see the
banners fly
Feel like you're
back again
And hope ridin'
high
Gonna be your man
in motion
All I need is a
pair of wheels
Take me where my
future's lyin'
St. Elmo's fire
I can see a new
horizon
Underneath the
blazin' sky
I'll be where the
eagle's flyin’
Higher and higher
Gonna be your man
in motion
All I need is a
pair of wheels
Take me where my
future's lyin'
St. Elmo's fire
I can climb the
highest mountain
Cross the wildest
sea
I can feel St.
Elmo's fire
Burnin' in me
Burnin'
Burnin' in me
I can feel it
burnin'
Ooh
Burnin' inside of
me

Thanks for stopping by, my dear Lee!!! Well, I did not know that Bonnie is Welsh until I saw it on her Wikipedia article! Come to think of it, you look a lot like her... Yeah, you are an Aussie Scot, but all of you funny-talking people look alike. That is, except for Mr. Bean and you know who.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha! You're the one with the accent, Jerry...not me! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Lee!!! Well, I do believe that I look a lot like Sean Connery if the light is just right...
ReplyDeleteBoth good songs and I liked the movie St. Elmo's Fire too
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! I cannot remember if I have ever actually seen St. Elmo's Fire in its entirety, but I do remember seeing bits and pieces of it. Anyway, the song is truly great, and I have seen several of the Brat Pack's other movies.
