Good, Bad and Ugly Ads

Since I have not been given much of a life, I watch an awful lot of television, which includes an awful lot of commercials.  Now, a “GOOD” ad is one that holds my attention and makes me want to at least learn more about the product or service it is for.  A “BAD” ad is one that quickly becomes nothing more than background noise when it cannot be skipped over.  “UGLY” ads are much worse.  For not only do they make we want to never see them again, they make me want to never have anything to do with the company that paid for them to be produced.  Of course, you may feel differently, but I sure wouldn’t say much about it around anyone with a lick of sense.  For I am, after all, an expert on such things—albeit only in my own mind!

  2. Ann and me disagree again. Oh dear and me and Walter both disagree with you guys about the Wrangler ad. It was our favorite.

I suppose we're getting old but the first ad albeit it did get the Lee brand name across but it just had a little too much sexual innuendo for us.

Wrangler did just as good a job as Lee at pushing their name and their commercial could have been watched by even the youngest of our grandchildren!!

    Yup...that's it....we're getting old.

  4. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Ann!!! I was actually looking for one of the old Lee Riders' ads for women's jeans when I found that one, which I don't remember ever seeing before!

  5. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Jackie!!! If you felt like the ad I did post for Lee Riders was too sexy, you sure wouldn't have liked the one I initially had in mind. By the way, I was a huge fan of Brett Favre until he proved to be a prima donna with very loud bells on. Wrangler 13MWZ "Cowboy Cut" were my jeans long before they started placing him in their commercials, though.

  7. I so agree with you. Though I'd say the guy in #2 is also ugly. Not to mention his jeans. :)
