Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill

How Great Thou Art
Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill
Oh Lord my God
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all
The worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars
I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout
The universe displayed

Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art

When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation
And take me home
What joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And then proclaim
My God
How great Thou art

Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
How great
Thou
Art

  1. This is one of my favourite hymns and often sung in St. George's CofE in Valley's End.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

  2. One of my favorites! Just lovely.

Your recent comment about clutter made me laugh out loud.

  3. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Friko!!! It is one of my all-time favorite hymns, as well! Although, I have heard it sung better than what was included here.

  4. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Laura!!! Alas, she still gives me "that look." Do you know what I can do? I've even tried making my own piles of stuff to prove that I'm getting with the program, but it only seems to make matters worse. Sigh.

  5. I have never been able to listen to or sing this hymn without feeling emotional. I remember being down by the beach and the lifeboat men were singing it, crowds gathered. That's how powerful these words are.

  6. This has been getting a lot of play lately in the blogosphere...Along with "Amazing Grace" it is just about everyone's favorite hymn (mine is "Sweet Hour of Prayer" but no one asked me)...If anyone wants to feature "How Great Thou Art" then they must use Elvis' version - at least when only the BEST will do... Elvis' version

  7. alas until I have use of my desktop I can not hear. Unless of course I discover speakers that I didn't know I had on this thing. The ones on this aren't very loud for someone who can't hear worth a darn

  9. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Brenda!!! Yes, I start choking up with emotion every time I hear this song, which I suspect has more to do with the circumstances surrounding its creation than anything else.

  10. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! Yes, Elvis' version is much better than this one. Now, in regards to Amazing Grace getting a lot of buzz lately, if you are referring to what is being said is Carrie Underwood's version, I do not believe that it truly is. For after Sandie asked if I had heard it, I found it on YouTube and was going to included it here until the doubts overwhelmed that decision. Those doubts come from not being able to find any reference to her recording the song on any trustworthy site, with the fact that the YouTube version came from an upload of a Chinese album of early recording sessions that I do not believe ever happened. Of course, I could be wrong.

  14. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! Oh, and I really don't understand why. Granted, they did a good job with the song, but not good enough to warrant millions of hits (in my opinion).
