“Come Monday…” is a
weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about, websites, movies, documentaries, television
shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time. Be assured that these reviews will be
generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come
Monday.” This is subject to change,
however. In fact, I would be most
derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while. For rants promote change, and change can be
good—right? Therefore, since good is
generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel
universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being
something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).
Okay,
I am about to put my “issues” with being so technically-challenged on full
display. For I have a problem with the
new Blogger comment form, and I don’t know how to do anything about it.
To
waller-down into the nitty-gritty to a much greater extent, what I am talking
about is the very same comment form that will now pop-up when someone goes to leave
a comment here. It first appeared a
couple of weeks or so ago, and the main problem I am having with it is that it
doesn’t offer the option to receive an email notification of a reply, as well
as other comments left afterward. Just
to be clear, I am still receiving email notifications that are left, but that
appears to be no longer possible for those who leave comments.
Yes,
when you are as brilliant a commentator as I am, it is important to monitor the
impact you are making upon the lives of others as you make your way through
cyberspace, but even if you are not, comments can often extend what was started
in the actual post, which can be severely hampered when interaction is
restricted. Besides, interaction fosters
a feeling of community, and when you can gain a neighbor like me, there is no
downside.
Furthering
my constipation consternation, the new Blogger comment doesn’t pop-up on
The Trib, and I had the same settings there as I had for here. So, if anyone can help me, I would be
eternally grateful. Be assured that I
have searched high and low for an answer, but it has alluded me so far.
NOTE: It may have been one
of those infamous glitches that was at the heart of the problem in the first-place. For I had “Full page” as my
previous setting, but the new Blogger comment form was coming up as a “Popup
window.”
***UPDATE***
I
have just been shown what to do, and if you are interested in also making a
change, follow the steps below.
Step
1: Go to your Bogger-In-Draft dashboard.
Step
2: Click-on the down-pointing arrow just to the left of “View Blog.”
Step
3: Click-on “Settings” at the bottom of the list.
Step
4: Click-on “Posts and comments” under the “Settings” subtitle at the left of
the page. “Posts and comments” will be
near the bottom of the complete list.
Step
5: Click-on the button to the right of “Comment Location,” which should be near
the middle of the page.
Step
6: Click-on “Embedded.”
Step
7: Click-on “Save settings” in the top right corner of the page.
Step
8: Bask in the glory of not being as technically-challenged as you previously
thought (along with thanking the One who actually allowed and enabled you to do
it, of course).
