TFT: Whitney Houston

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world.  For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion.  Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

NOTE: This is a special (out of sequence) edition on account of the physical death of a lady, whose God-given talents were undeniable.  May we hear her sing again when the time comes for our Heavenly Father to gather all of His children by faith unto Himself.

Greatest Love of All
Whitney Houston
I believe
The children are our future
Teach them well
And let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty
They possess inside
Give them a sense of pride
To make it easier
Let the children's laughter
Remind us how we used to be
Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone
Who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned
To depend on me

I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail
If I succeed
At least I live
As I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity

Because the greatest
Love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest
Love of all
Inside of me
The greatest
Love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest
Love of all

I believe
The children are our future
Teach them well
And let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty
They possess inside
Give them a sense of pride
To make it easier
Let the children's laughter
Remind us how we used to be

I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail
If I succeed
At least I live
As I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity

Because the greatest
Love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest
Love of all
Inside of me
The greatest
Love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest
Love of all

And if by chance that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love

I Look To You
Whitney Houston
As I lay me down
Heaven hear me now
I'm lost without a cause
After giving it my all
Winter storms have come
And darkened my sun
After all that I've been through
Who on earth can I turn to

I look to You
I look to You
After all my strength is gone
In You I can be strong
I look to You
I look to You
And when melodies are gone
In You I hear a song
I look to You

About to lose my breath
There's no more fighting left
Sinking to rise no more
Searching for that open door
And every road that I've taken
Led to my regret
And I don't know if I'm gonna make it
Nothing to do but lift my head

I look to You
I look to You
Yeah
And when all my strength is gone
In You I can be strong
I look to You
I look to You
And when melodies are gone
In You I hear a song
I look to You

My levee's have broken
My walls
My walls have come
Coming down on me
Crumbling down on me
Oh the rain is falling
The rain is falling
Oh
Defeat is calling
Set me free
I need You to set me free
Take me far away from the battle
I need You
Shine on me

I look to You
I look to You
After all my strength has gone
In You I can be strong
I look to You
I look to You
Yeah
And when melodies are gone
In You I hear a song
I look to You
Hey
I look to You
I look to You

  2. Beautiful - she was a unique talent with an amazing voice. The many articles written about her emphasized that no one ever tried to emulate her because she was one of a kind with an extraordinary voice. She was always a class act...Angels sing her flight to heaven

  5. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! A fully agree with it being usually foolish for anyone to try to sing one of the songs that she made her own, but Jennifer Hudson's rendition of "I Will Always Love You," at this years Grammy's was at least as good as Whitney's to both my wife and me, which I will include in a sing-off between Dolly, Whitney and her on Thursday.
