TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world.  For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion.  Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Go All The Way
The Raspberries
My my yeah woo

I
Never knew how complete
Love could be
‘Til she kissed me and said
Baby please
Go all the way
It feels so right
It feels so right
Being with you
Here tonight
Please
Go all the way
Just hold me close
Hold me close
Don’t ever let
Me go

I couldn’t say
What I wanted to say
‘Til she whispered
I love you
So please
Go all the way
It feels so right
It feels so right
Being with you
Here tonight
Please
Go all the way
Just hold me close
Hold me close
Don’t ever let
Me go

Before her love
I was cruel and mean
I had a hole in the place
Where my heart
Should have been
But now I’ve changed
And it feels so strange
I come alive
When she does
All those things
To me

And she says
Come on
Come on
Come on
Come on
Come on
Come on
I need you
Come on
I love you
Come on
I need you
Come on
Come on

Please
Go all the way
It feels so right
It feels right
Being with you
Here tonight
Please
Go all the way
Just hold me close
Hold me close
Don’t ever let
Me go
Oh
No

Ooh ooh ooh oooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Oh oh

No no no no
Yeah yeah yeah

Go on baby

Woo hoo

Overnight Sensation
The Raspberries
Well I know it sounds funny
But I’m not in it for the money no
I don’t need no reputation
And I’m not in it for the show

I just want a hit record
Yeah
Want hear it on the radio
Yeah
Want a big hit record
Yeah
One that everybody’s got to know

Well if the program director
Don’t pull it hah
It’s time to get back
The bullet
So bring the group down
To the station
You’re gonna be an
Overnight sensation

Oh yeah

I’ve been tryin’
To write the lyric
Non-offensive
But satiric too
And if you can get
In the A-slot
It’s just got to make
A mint for you

I just want a hit record
Yeah
Want hear it on the radio
Yeah
Want a big hit record
Yeah
One that everybody’s got to know
Yeah
Whoa oh oh oh

Overnight sensation

I fit those words
To a good melody
To a good melody
Amazin’ how success
Has been ignorin’ me
Has been ignorin’ me
So long
I use my bread
Makin’ demos all day
Makin’ demos all day
Writin’ in the night
While in my head I hear
While in my head I hear
The record play
Hear it play

Hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
 Wanna hit record
Yeah
Number one
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Number one
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Number one
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna a hit

Hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Number one
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Number one
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah
Wanna hit record
Yeah

  1. I had never heard of these people before, and quite frankly, I wish I hadn't heard them now.

Cleveland? Seriously? Which brings one to wonder, yet again, why the hell the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is there...Once again I say - Cleveland? Seriously?

  3. Sorry if my private jokes with Jerry got you upset - we go round like this on everything. Then again you may be kidding - whatever - it's all good!

I live in Filthadelphia, the trashiest town ever - literally. And if you want to have at it I'd be happy to help you.

BTW - I'm a New Yorker, born and bred. And people have always loved "trash talking" about NYC so have a wing at that one too if it pleases you.

    Like I said - it's all good.

  6. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! Alas, sometimes your great lack of good musical taste has me scratching my head, but I really appreciate your efforts to appease Mike. No, one should never make a Clevelander angry, and leaving them that way is even worse.

  7. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Mike!!! To be perfectly honest about it, "Go All The Way" is the only Raspberries song I can remember from way back then, and "Overnight Sensation" came as a very pleasant surprise when I went to look for something to match up.

Oh, and please forgive Grace. For she is just being who she is, and all of her trash-talking is meant to be just that. Well, at least I hope it is... Come to think of it, she has been riding my rear awfully hard lately...
