Come Monday...Ronon Is Conan!

“Come Monday…” is a weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about,  websites, movies, documentaries, television shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time.  Be assured that these reviews will be generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.”  This is subject to change, however.  In fact, I would be most derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while.  For rants promote change, and change can be good—right?  Therefore, since good is generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).

Okay, his name is actually [Jason Momoa], but I knew him as [Ronon Dex] when we first met.  He left quite an impression upon me, be assured.

No, not even a name change to [Khal Drogo] made a difference.  Although, the heavy makeup was somewhat disturbing.

Yes, as a matter of fact, we have been fairly close for quite some time now, and having never met face-to-face is no deterrent.  For my fertile imagination can fill-in all of the blanks.

Alas, I fear that it will be at least a couple more years before I will get to truly see him again as [Conan].  For it is really, REALLY hard for a 400-pound man to sneak into a theater these days.

Yes, there was another [Conan, The Barbarian] a few years back.  It starred [Arnold Schwarzenegger], and it was as awful as [the sequel].  Some would insist that they were so bad that they were good, but I wouldn’t be one of them.

All of the sneak-peaks that I have seen of the new one have looked amazing.  Therefore, I don’t think that anyone who doesn’t insist upon having finger sandwiches with their tea in the middle of the afternoon will be having anything bad to say about it.

If do hear something, please let us know.  For Jason and I will want to have words with them, and he never has all that much to say (if you know what I mean).

  1. I think I may have seen parts of conan the barbarian at one time but it wasn't really my kind of movie. But hey if you like that sort of thing.

  2. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! Yes, movies like that are what I really like, which should make what I said about the Schwarzenegger Conans being awful all the more telling.
