Come Monday...Mama ASID's Womens Politics Mixtape

“Come Monday…” is a weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about,  websites, movies, documentaries, television shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time.  Be assured that these reviews will be generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.”  This is subject to change, however.  In fact, I would be most derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while.  For rants promote change, and change can be good—right?  Therefore, since good is generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).

With most of news being focused on the earthquake and tsunami damage in Japan lately, other issues get shuffled to the bottom of the pile. Of course, even on a slow news day, the brutalization of innocent women in Africa rarely gets top billing.

This is something that Mama ASID is trying to change, and I hope you will pay a visit to [this piece] on her BadGals Radio site. For aside from what is written, a mixtape is available for downloading.

Be thou forewarned, however. For if you are allergic to reggae and hip-hop music, you might want to skip ahead to around the 11:18 mark. For that is where she adds some very pertinent commentary to around the 11:50 mark, and then she adds some more from around 26:35 to 29:41.

Yes, I have said much about horrific circumstances all being a part of the plan that our Heavenly Father set into motion long before He created this world. Nonetheless, there is a big difference between fully accepting the absolute truth of that and refusing to do anything to help those in need when given an opportunity to do so.

No, there is nothing contradictory about that. For there are times when evil is allowed to fester and grow, and then there are times of cleansing.

Ah, but nothing is to be taken too much for granted. Therefore, truly hearing our Heavenly Father’s voice is crucial to understanding what is really going on, but who is so deaf as the one who does not want to hear?

  1. I do hope and pray for the people of Japan though. I can't even comprehend all they have to go though.

  2. Yes the news is filled with Japan right now. Such a tragedy, I can't even imagine what it must be like to go through that. It is funny though how some things will be all over the news while others never make it at all.
