If you have a set of good headphones, do yourself a favor and go put them on. Make sure they are plugged into the right jack, and then crank the volume up to at least eleven before hitting the play button. For this song cannot be fully appreciated without your brain reverberating from its echo effect. “Other” considerations may come to mind, but they have never been necessary for what is surely classic rock ‘n’ roll at its very best to rock me to the very core of my soul.

Rock On
David Essex
Oooh
Hey kid
Rock and roll
Rock on
Ooh my soul
Hey kid
Boogey too
Did ya
Hey shout
Summertime blues
Jump up and down
In my blue suede shoes
Hey kid
Rock and roll
Rock on
And where do we go from here
Which is the way that’s clear
Still lookin’ for that
Blue jean
Baby queen
Prettiest girl
I ever seen
See her shake
On the movie screen
Jimmy Dean
James Dean
And where do we go from here
Which is the way that’s clear
Still lookin’ for that
Blue jean
Baby queen
Prettiest girl
I ever seen
See her shake
On the movie screen
Jimmy Dean
Jimmy Dean
Rock on
Rock on
Rock on
Hey hey
Rock and roll
Rock on
Rock on
Hey hey
Rock and roll
Rock on
Rock on
Hey hey
Rock and roll
Rock on
Hey hey
Rock and roll
Rock on
Rock on
Hey hey
Rock and roll
Rock on
Rock on
Hey hey
Rock and roll
Rock on
Rock on
Hey hey
Rock and roll
Rock on

Ooooh my soul. Rock on.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Vixen!!! Rock on indeed.
ReplyDeleteRock off!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a lot of David Essex records. A great song but his more mellow songs are now my favorites such as "A Winter's Tale" and "Myfanwy".
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!! I am sorry for not posting something more suited for your delicate sensibilities. How about some Barry Manilow or Engelbert Humperdinck?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Hazel!!! I can't recall ever hearing anything else by him, but I will check those songs out. Hey, they might be just what Adullamite is looking for?
ReplyDeleteI think this is the first time you have ever posted a song that a. I knew and b. I love...
ReplyDeleteI see music has yet to reach Arkansaw!
ReplyDeleteI'm still bopping to the beat as I write this comment. LOVED IT. It's a shame I could not turn the volume up any higher on my computer.
ReplyDeleteHad the pleasure of seeing him in the flesh at a record signing in London in 1973, He'd just released this track off the album That'll be the Day. He was just gorgeous with the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. He's 62 now and I've just seen him on the One Show on BBC TV, he looks his age but he still has those eyes!
ReplyDeletewow nice guy
ReplyDeleteyou are look like elvis
Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! Well, my wife keeps telling me something about even a blind squirrel can find a nut every once in a while, but I really don't know what she is talking about. Could it have something to do with me finally posting a song that you love?
ReplyDeleteNow you just hold on there a minute, you old Scottish coot! We live just 45 miles north of Branson, MO, which is the current home of what remains of The Lawrence Welk Show. Hey, Andy Williams is also down there. So, don't you be saying that we don't have the kind of music that you like to polka to here!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, you've still got it. HUBBA HUBBA! Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear CharmaineZoe!!! While I was checking out the songs that Hazel mentioned, I did notice that he doesn't look all that much different than he did 40 years or so ago. I imagine that it was quite a thrill for you to meet someone like him in person. I have also met a few stars in person over the years, and it was certainly a thrill for me. Although, I wasn't very nice to Ernest Tubb. (He was drunk, and I was drunk...)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Sewa!!! Yeah, I suppose you could say that--kinda, sorta, maybe.
ReplyDeleteThe Lawrence Welk Show.

Yeah, like you don't know. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Adullamite!!!
ReplyDeleteI should digg your post therefore more folks can see it, really useful, I had a tough time finding the results searching on the web, thanks.
