ATF: Daily Escapes

This series will include as many of my all-time favorite (ATF) tunes as I can get my grubby little hands on (so to speak).  Now, each one included in each edition will have some connection with the other—albeit only as a figment of my imagination, but they will not be numbered.  For I just cannot bring myself to rate some higher than others.  So, this will not be a countdown, but if you are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter.  Besides, with no countdown, this could go on forever and ever!  Oh, and despite the fact that there is absolutely no way your musical tastes could be as exquisite as mine, I welcome any suggestions you might dare to make.  For I am, after all, quite magnanimous by nature.

Dreamer
Supertramp
Dreamer
You know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head
Oh no
I said
Dreamer
You're nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head
Oh no

I said
Far out
What a day
A year
A life it is
You know
Well you know
You had
It comin' to you
Now
There's not
A lot I can do

Dreamer
You stupid little dreamer
So now you put your head in your hands
Oh no

Woo

I said
Far out
What a day
A year
A life this is
You know
Well you know
You had
It comin' to you
Now
There's not
A lot I can do

Work it out someday

If I could see something
You can see anything
You want boy
If I could be someone
You can be anyone
Celebrate boy
Well, if I could do something
You can do something
If I could do anything
But can you do something
Out of this world

Out of this world

Take a dream
On a Sunday
Take a life
Take a holiday
Take a lie
Take a dreamer
Dream
Dream
Dream
Dream
Dream along

Dreamer
Dream
Dream along
C'mon
And dream
And dream along
C'mon
And dream
And dream along
C'mon
And dream
And dream along

Dreamer
You know you are a dreamer
C'mon
And dream
And dream along
C'mon
And dream
And dream along
Can you put your hands in your head
Oh no
C'mon

I said
Dreamer
You're nothing but a dreamer
C'mon
And dream
And dream
Along
C'mon
And dream
And dream
Along
Can you put your hands in your head
Oh no
Oh no

Hitch a Ride
Boston
Day is night in New York City
Smoke like water runs inside
Steel idle trees to pity
Every living thing that's died

Gonna hitch a ride
Head for the other side
Leave it all behind
Never change my mind
Gonna sail away
Sunlight's another day
Freedom on my mind
Carry me away for the last time

Ooooh
Yeah

Life is like the coldest winter
People freeze the tears I cry
Words of hail their minds are into
I've got to crack this ice and fly

Gonna hitch a ride
Head for the other side
Leave it all behind
Never change my mind
Gonna sail away
Sunlight's another day
Freedom on my mind
Carry me away for the last time

Gonna hitch a ride
Head for the other side
Leave it all behind
Never change my mind
Gonna sail away
Sunlight's another day
Freedom on my mind
Carry me away for the last time

  1. You have invaded my email. I keep getting mail in your name at the top and then it is from other people's who are on the blog. I don't know how or why such a virus could do that but I just now realized it is you and it is your name. I am going to get a hold of blogger and see what they can do at their end.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, my dear LD!!! I am sorry about the, and I just sent you a real email addressing the issue and another matter. For the benefit of others reading this exchange, I don't know how it is being done. I have been getting phony emails using an acquaintance's address for years. Contacting Blogger will not resolve the problem because they have nothing to do with email, and I do not think gmail can do anything about it. Just check the address as you did, which should tell you if an email is legit or not.

  7. I know you will be ternally jealous to learn that John Helliwell, the saxophonist from Supertramp, popped into a musical event in our village last year. I really must stop running into all these famous people. Love your ATF series - sorry I don't get to comment more.
