This series will include as many of my all-time
favorite (ATF) tunes as I can get my grubby little hands on (so to speak). Now, each one included in each edition will
have some connection with the other—albeit only as a figment of my imagination,
but they will not be numbered. For I
just cannot bring myself to rate some higher than others. So, this will not be a countdown, but if you
are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter. Besides, with no countdown, this could go on
forever and ever! Oh, and despite the
fact that there is absolutely no way your musical tastes could be as exquisite
as mine, I welcome any suggestions you might dare to make. For I am, after all, quite magnanimous by
nature.

Dream Weaver

I've just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies
Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget todays pain
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Though the dawn may be coming soon
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light

Dream On
Aerosmith
Every time that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay
I know
Nobody knows
Where it comes
And where it goes
I know
It's everybody's sin
You got to lose
To know how to win
Half my life's in books' written pages
Live and learn from fools and from sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you
Sing with me
Sing for the years
Sing for the laughter
And sing for the tears
Sing with me
If it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow
The good Lord’ll take you away
Sing with me
Sing for the year
Sing for my laughter
And sing for the tear
Sing with me
If it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow
The good Lord’ll take you away
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream yourself a dream come true
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream until your dream comes true
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Yeah
Sing with me
Sing for the year
Sing for my laughter
And sing for the tear
Sing with me
If it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow
The good Lord’ll take you away
Sing with me
Sing for the year
Sing for my laughter
And sing for the tear
Sing with me
If it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow
The good Lord’ll take you away

Thanks for stopping by, my dear Marja!!! Yeah, Dream On blew me away the first time I heard it, and I don't think I have ever really recovered. Not that I would want to, of course.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Stephen!!! I was shocked to find that the lyrics were so short. I suppose that is a testament to the power of the overall song.
