The SOLE purpose of this series is to help call
attention to sites that I think many would find most interesting—in one way or
another. Just to be clear, inclusion in
this series is not necessarily meant as an endorsement, and I have included
sites that I found rather disturbing.
The link below each image is to the site itself, and each image is
linked to the particular post from which it was taken when applicable. Please, go see for yourself. Oh, and as of August 10, 2012, I will be no
longer including sites that have auto-play and word verification engaged.

Thanks for stopping by, my dear Ruma!!! Your wonderful Calligraphy in the Landscape has been added to the list to be included in this series. Be assured that I will let you know when it is actually included, which will be a while because of how many were already on the list.
DeleteThanks for the link to Hyde DP - appreciated.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome, and thanks for being so considerate, my dear Gerald!!! Please forgive me for picking that image out of all the truly great ones you have there, but I figured that such a HUGE snail might attract a lot of attention. Furthermore, it seemed fitting for such an olde town (in a good way, of course).
ReplyDeleteThank you Jerry :)

ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome, and thanks for stopping by, my dear Jose!!! Several years ago, I had some time to kill late one night while I was still driving a big truck from coast to coast. I think I was in the middle of the concrete jungle on the Jersey side of the Hudson River, and I spotted what looked like a fairly nice bar just down the street from where I had parked my truck. So, I decided to go in and see if I could find some company for a few hours, and the place was deserted, except for a drop-dead gorgeous waitress and a young man tending bar. I overheard them speaking to each other in what I thought was Spanish, and I jumped right in with the same language. When both of them started looking at me real funny, I admitted that my Spanish was pretty bad. The bartender then told me (in fluent English) that they were from Brazil. When I got a puzzled look on my face, he explained that they were speaking Portuguese, which sounds a lot like Spanish, but is actually rather different. I was embarrassed, but I was able to recover enough to explain to him that I was trying to respectfully compliment the waitress on how beautiful she is. He smiled and told me that his wife appreciated it. Yeah, I slinked right on out of there after that. Sigh.
