The SOLE purpose of this weekly series is
to help call attention to sites that I think many would find most
interesting—in one way or another. Just
to be clear, inclusion in this series is not necessarily meant as a
recommendation, and I have included sites that are rather disturbing to
me. The link below each image is to the
site itself, and each image is linked to the particular post from which it was
taken when applicable. Please, go see
for yourself. Oh, and as of August 10,
2012, I will be no longer including sites that have auto-play and word
verification engaged.
As
you probably already know, I have stopped including sites that have word
verification spam filtering and audio auto-play engaged in the [Sites To See]
and A Sunday Drive series, which has proven to be a royal pain. For many of the word verification thingies do
not pop up until after you hit "submit." Therefore, in order to check to see if a site
has one like that, at least an attempt to leave a comment must be made, and I
sometimes have a hard time finding something profound and uplifting to say. Yes, I know that this is very hard to
believe, but being so honest about myself should make me even more endearing
to everyone.
Thankfully,
I was informed of the existence of the International Word Verification
Detection System, and I can finally get back to my old free-wheelin’ self. Now, the system offers their services for
free, but it costs €100 for the right to use their copyrighted comment for one
calendar year. It is as follows:
Achtung! This is a test of the International World Verification
Detection System. In the event of an
actual comment, something quite profound and greatly uplifting to all concerned
will be left. (LOL?) (Please?)
Okay,
I added the (LOL?) and the (Please?) to the original message, which cost extra,
but my desperate need for approval demanded it.
No, time and money spent in and on therapy is not always well worth the
expense.
P.S.: Out of the more than 200 sites that were left on the old list for future inclusion in the Sites To See series, a full third have had to be dropped on account of having the word verification spam filter engaged, and I still have almost 100 left to check. Yeah, I need to start spending more time in better blogosphere neighborhoods.
Not every song that
will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian”
in the eyes of this world. For some will
be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously
fervent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless,
be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another)
and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

“Come Monday…” is a
weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about, websites, movies, documentaries, television
shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time. Be assured that these reviews will be
generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.” This is subject to change, however. In fact, I would be most derelict in my
duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while. For rants promote change, and change can be
good—right? Therefore, since good is
generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel
universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being
something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).
***WARNING***
The
following will probably be highly offensive to all who see nothing wrong with
homosexuality.
[Art Smith] has been one of our favorite celebrity chefs. For from the first time my wife and I saw him
appear as a guest judge on the American version of [Iron Chef] through several
appearances in various capacities on other shows, he has displayed a distinct
sweetness and humility, along with a great sense of humor, that we found quite
appealing.
The
current season of [Top Chef Masters] has been quite shock to our systems,
however. For he has erased all doubts
about [being gay]—not that we had any questions about it before. For neither one of us had any idea that he
was, which is the way we would have liked it to have remained.
No,
we are not of the opinion that all homosexuals should be burned at the stake,
but it makes both of us very uncomfortable to watch a man in his 50s act like a
little girl. Seriously, there have been
a few times this season when we thought he was about to start squealing with
glee.
Yeah,
what are we doing watching a show like Top Chef Masters in the first-place? For neither one of us are sophisticated
enough to fully appreciate the kind of foods they are preparing.
What
we can appreciate is the demeanor of [Ted Allen] on [Chopped]. For he was one of the original cast members
of [Queer Eye for the Straight Guy], and yet, he acts like a manly man as the host
of Chopped. Does this make him a traitor
to the cause?
Back during my childhood, our parents would often load
up my brother and me after Sunday morning church services for a leisurely drive
around where we lived. Even though we
were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them, and this is
why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a weekly series
revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again. The link below the image is to the site
itself, and the image is linked to the post it was first included in here.
This is a weekly
series that will include a brief summary of the latest articles that have been
published on The Tribulation Times Herald-Exhorter. Hopefully, this will encourage you to go
check out some truly outstanding articles that have been published by a number
of truly outstanding authors. Moreover,
I hope this will also encourage you to want to become a contributing
member/author, as well. The “Hear
Ye! Hear Ye!” site explanation near the
top of the side-bar should answer many of your questions. Yes, this series also included an “SOS! (Spam
On Saturdays)” segment before, but it
just wasn’t working for me. Therefore,
that will be replaced by a republishing of one of the Trib articles.
[2016 Obama’s America] contains the trailer for a movie that the president might not be all that anxious for very many to see.
[Ron Hearst Rocks!] has me singing the praises of a member of a local news team for
a change.
[Good, Bad and Ugly Ads] features television commercials for DirecTV, SuddenLink Cable
and Dish Network.
[WhiteHeart Wednesday]has a video and the lyrics for Carried Away (On the Wings of the
Lord).
Ironically,
some of the best television commercials are for ESPN and only air on ESPN. Now, I do not know if these ads really are
meant to add all the more to the viewing experience, but it works for me.
