TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Liar
Three Dog Night

Well I won’t ever leave
While you want me to stay
There’s nothing you can do
That can turn me away
Hanging on anyway
Believing the things you said
Being a fool

You’ve taken my life
So take my soul
Well that’s what you said
And who are we to know
I want to be with you
Long as you want me to
But don’t move away

Ain’t that what you said
Ain’t that what you said
Ain’t that what you said

Liar
Liar
Liar

We didn’t see no night
We didn’t see no day
There’s nothing you can do
That can turn me away
You can believe in me
I won’t be leavin’
I won’t let you go

Ain’t that what you said
Ain’t that what you said
Ain’t that what you said

Liar
Liar
Liar

Liar
Liar
Liar

You’ve taken my life
So take my soul
Well that’s what you said
And who are we to know
I want to be with you
Long as you want me to
But don’t move away

Ain’t that what you said
Ain’t that what you said
Ain’t that what you said

Liar
Liar
Liar

Liar
Liar
Liar

Yeah
Liar liar

Liar
Liar
Liar

One
Three Dog Night
One is the loneliest number
That you’ll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It’s the loneliest number
Since the number one

No is the saddest experience
You’ll ever know
Yes it’s the saddest experience
You’ll ever know

‘Cause one is the loneliest number
That you’ll ever do
One is the loneliest number
Worse than two

It’s just no good anymore
Since she went away
Now I spend my time
Just making rhymes
Of yesterday

One is the loneliest
Number one is the loneliest
Number one is the loneliest number
That you’ll ever do

One is the loneliest
One is the loneliest
One is the loneliest number
That you’ll ever do

It’s just no good anymore
Since she went away

Number
One is the loneliest
Number
One is the loneliest
Number
One is the loneliest number
That you’ll ever do
Number
One is the loneliest
Number
One is the loneliest
Number
One is the loneliest number
That you’ll ever do

Number one
Is the loneliest
Number one
Is the loneliest
Number one is the loneliest number
That you’ll ever do
Number
One is the loneliest number
That you’ll ever do

  1. Thank you again for the wonderful music. I actually had a chance to see them in concert, not too many years, ago with Burton Cummings (former lead singer). It was awesome. I sang along with every song...what a blast, man!!

  2. Burton Cummings was the lead singer with Three Dog Night?!? I knew he was a founding member of The Guess Who, but I had no idea that he was with this group! Back in the day, I was actually a much bigger fan of Three Dog Night than even The Beatles, and I hate it that the volume on that Liar video cannot be turned up louder. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Coleen!!!

  3. I remember seeing 3Dog in concert in 1969. Pretty cool. They were one of the best harmonizing groups of the day.

  5. Don,

I agree and would add The 5th Dimension; Peter, Paul and Mary; Simon & Garfunkel; and the Bee Gees.

  6. I love these blasts from the past. Maybe I'm just brain dead but I don't remember the first song at all. The second however is definitely a good one

  7. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Don!!! "Joy To The World" was the first song of theirs that I fell in love with, and what makes the chorus of it so great is the harmony of their voices. The same can be said of "Shambala," "Celebrate," "Black and White," "Eli's Coming," and a host of others.

  9. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! I am sure you remember, "Jeremiah was a bullfrog. Was a good friend of mine. I never understood a single word he said, but I helped him drink his wine. Yeah, he always had some mighty fine wine." If you would like to introduce Duke to "Joy To The World," you-all can listen to it here:
