Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Hold Your Head Up
Argent
And if it’s bad
Don’t let it get you down
You can take it
And if it hurts
Don’t let them see you cry
You can make it
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head high
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head high
And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes
On your moving
And if they shout
Don’t let it change a thing
That you’re doing
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head high
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head high
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Hold your head up
Whoa
Hold your head up
Whoa
Hold your head up
Whoa
Hold your head high
And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes
On your moving
And if they shout
Don’t let it change a thing
That you’re doing
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa
Hold your head up
High
Whoa

God Gave Rock And Roll To You
Argent
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul
Of everyone
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Save rock and roll
For everyone
Love your friend
And love your neighbor
Love your life
And love your labor
No it’s never too late
To change your mind
Don’t step on snails
Don’t climb in trees
Love Cliff Richard
But please don’t tease
It’s never too late
To change your mind
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul
Of everyone
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Save rock and roll
For everyone
If you wanna be a singer
Or play guitar
Man you gotta sweat
Or you won’t get far
And it’s never too late
To work 9 to 5
And if you’re young
And you’ll never be old
Music can make
Your dreams unfold
How good it feels
To be alive
Rock
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul
Of everyone
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Save rock and roll
For everyone
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul
Of everyone
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Save rock and roll
For everyone
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul
Of everyone
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Save rock and roll
For everyone
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul
Of everyone
God gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to you
Save rock and roll
For everyone
God gave rock and roll to you

ReplyDeleteYeah, "Hold Your Head Up" has been one of my all-time favorites from the very first time I heard it 216 years ago this coming Friday. I am really glad you liked this, and another WhiteHeart is scheduled for tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear BadGal!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember the first one well, the second I don't recall ever hearing before.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! If I understand right, "God Gave Rock And Rock To You" was first recorded by The Zombies while Rod Argent was the lead singer, but it never received much attention with either version.
ReplyDeleteTo bring the point home about this series, both of those songs serve as great examples of how it naturally is in this world. For "Hold Your Hold Up" is about self-assurance, and it garnered mass appeal. Whereas the other is about a gift from our Heavenly Father, which is something that most are not comfortable with acknowledging--even in the Christian community.
