In my first case, it was a comment left on the very first post in line on [FishHawk Droppings], which is the one that gives details about Google Docs and Bible Gateway links. Since it was not left by the infamous Anonymous and appeared to be anything but a compliment, I left it up for several weeks. In fact, I even thanked MM for leaving it! Then, I “just so happened” to move my mouse pointer (or cursor) over the line of periods (or dots) one day, and lo and behold, an underline appeared under those periods. Yep, it was indeed an indication of them actually being a link, and when I clicked on it, up came a Chinese porn site.
Since then, I have noticed several of these innocent looking comments popping up all over the place, and Anonymous has gotten with the program. Of course, it is bad enough that these are often to porn sites, but what makes it even more despicable is that many of the girls who are featured on their opening pages look like they have not reached puberty yet—let alone legal age.
Woe be it unto those who are exploiting those extremely young girls. Granted, our Heavenly Father’s grace covers even that, but one must still live with the torment of having done something that awful after they have been brought into their right-mind. No, it is not really fair in our way of thinking, but be assured that it will be as it should be in the end.

Oh my goodness - I'm glad to know this (yuck). I haven't had any "anonymous" comments yet, but it's good to know about this despicable trend so I can watch out for it. I know that my email inbox seems to be getting an ever increasing amount of garbage, although thankfully nothing obscene [yet] just those congratulatory emails that I've won the Nigerian Lottery; Oh, goody :o)
ReplyDeleteLately, I have been getting quite a few emails that have been supposedly sent by me to me about whether or not I am happy with the size of a certain part of the male anatomy. Well, actually no, but I don't see where that is any of my business. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Jen!!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, if you have any trouble cashing those Nigerian checks, I seem to have several contacts in Hong Kong who would probably be very happy to help you.
FishHawk - they are all over the place leaving those comments. I get them linking to my greenblog. why I still am not sure; but I was told it's for the hits. they're really a pain, you are right. I use intense debate comment system to deal with it. if you need a link, let me know.
ReplyDeleteWow, I am glad to know this. I am technically stupid myself. I don't think I have gotten any of those comments but I sure will check any of them that I don't know who it is. That is just awful. There really are some weird dos on the internet. I am sorry this happened to you.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you do, don't click on those links again. You should be able to read the URL at the bottom of your browser by hovering over it. If you are ever in doubt as to whether it is legit or not, then go ahead and delete.
ReplyDeleteMany of these sites have viruses, pop ups and auto installs so make sure you don't visit them!
I don't get many anonymous comments but I never even thought to check out the comments left on my blog. Good information to know.
ReplyDeleteAs we know there are all kinds of perverted people in the world and they love to prey on the innocent. Just be thankful that we do not have to answer for their actions. It is going to be a rude awakening for them if they do not repent and turn from the sick state. Thanks for the heads up my friend!
ReplyDeleteFriends 4 Life!
When I first started seeing them, I thought the line of periods had something to do with a comment having to contain so many characters before it could be counted by some thingy, and that may very well be another reason why these are set up like that. Oh well. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Mama ASID!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you have also gotten any comments that consist of Chinese characters, it would do you well to translate them if you haven't already. For most (if not all) of the ones I have seen are also links to Chinese porn sites. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Marg!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is some great advice, my dear Emm. The BitDefender Antivirus program I run has done a wonderful job of keeping me protected so far, but... Thanks for stopping by again!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I have been getting a lot more spam comments than usual lately, and I figured that it was because of me finally getting noticed. I suppose those are not the kind of people I should want to be noticed by--huh? Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!!
ReplyDeleteBe assured that I know a thing or two about what they are facing. Some of the really awful things I have done in the past are mentioned in The Crackerhead Chronicles, but the worst ones were left out. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Eddie!!!
ReplyDeleteFish--I have been overwhelmed by this on my blog. I have been forced to moderate my comments from 3 old forward--I can catch the current ones and delete. They notoriously post this crap in your old posts, so you may have to go back to check and delete. I have one post in particular (a Wordless Wednesday) this is a constant source for these fools. Why that one? I don't know if they are looking for key words or what. I'm disgusted with it. Oh, I had the dots this week too.
ReplyDeleteIt's on account of the hip-waders, my dear Lin. As I have mentioned before (a time or two), you look sooooo hot in them, and I am evidently not the only one who feels that way. Thanks for stopping by again!!!
ReplyDeleteUGH! I know it's frustrating. I love the Fish hawk comment, giggle. I monitor my comments, fortunately most are kind thoughtful comments, Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am going to resist putting any restrictions on open commenting for as long as I can, but if I start getting too popular with the wrong kinds of people, I suppose I will have to start monitoring comments, myself. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Katherine!!!
