TWO FOR TUESDAY {REDO}

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Hell Is For Children
Pat Benatar
They cry in the dark
So you can’t see their tears
They hide in the light
So you can’t see their fears
Forgive and forget
All the while
Love and Pain
Become one and the same
In the eyes of a wounded child

Because hell
Hell is for children
And you know that their little lives
Can become such a mess
Hell
Hell is for children
And you shouldn’t have to pay for your love
With your bones and your flesh

It’s all so confusing
This brutal abusing
They blacken your eyes
And then apologize
You’re daddy’s good girl
And don’t tell mommy a thing
Be a good little boy
And you’ll get a new toy
Tell grandma you fell off the swing

Because hell
Hell is for children
And you know that their little lives
Can become such a mess
Hell
Hell is for children
And you shouldn’t have to pay for your love
With your bones and your flesh

No
Hell is for children

Hell
Hell is for hell
Hell is for hell
Hell is for children

Hell
Hell is for hell
Hell is for hell
Hell is for children

Hell
Hell is for hell
Hell is for hell
Hell is for children

Hell is for children

Hell is for children

We Belong
Pat Benatar

Many times I’ve tried to tell you
Many times I’ve cried alone
Always I’m surprised how well
You cut my feelings to the bone
Don’t want to leave you really
I’ve invested too much time
To give you up that easy
To the doubts that complicate your mind

We belong to the Light
We belong to the Father
We belong to the sound of the words
We’ve both fallen under
Whatever we deny or embrace
For worse or for better
We belong
We belong
We belong together

Maybe it’s a sign of weakness
When I don’t know what to say
Maybe I just wouldn’t know
What to do with my strength anyway
Have we become a habit
Do we distort the facts
Now there’s no looking forward
Now there’s no turning back
When you say

We belong to the Light
We belong to the Father
We belong to the sound of the words
We’ve both fallen under
Whatever we deny or embrace
For worse or for better
We belong
We belong
We belong together

Close your eyes and try to sleep now
Close your eyes and try to dream
Clear your mind and do your best
To try and wash the palette clean
We can’t begin to know it
How much we really care
I hear your voice inside me
I see your face everywhere
Still you say

We belong to the Light
We belong to the Father
We belong to the sound of the words
We’ve both fallen under
Whatever we deny or embrace
For worse or for better
We belong
We belong
We belong together

We belong to the Light
We belong to the Father
We belong to the sound of the words
We’ve both fallen under
Whatever we deny or embrace
For worse or for better
We belong
We belong
We belong together

We belong to the Light
We belong to the Father…

  2. Yes, "We Belong" has meant a great deal to me. I don't know if it was the first time I ever heard the song, but I remember crying like a baby while I was driving my big truck around Jonesboro, AR one day when I was feeling far away from my Heavenly Father. He has done things like that for me a lot. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Roschelle!!! I hope you keep your kitties happy. They sound real serious.

  4. I was just listening to both of those songs yesterday and realized that many people don't get the meaning inside the lyrics. Thank you for sharing these.

    Eddie,

The song is about child abuse and what it is like to live growing up with it...hell.

  6. Clueless is not at all "clueless" about "Hell Is For Children," my dear Eddie. For she is exactly right about what the song is about, and songs like this are one of the ways that our Heavenly Father brings out into the light what we often naturally want hidden in the dark. Thanks for stopping by again!!!

  8. Ironically, both of these songs usually bring tears to my eyes, my dear Lin. They are, however, very different tears. For "Hell Is For Children" makes me cry sad tears. Whereas, "We Belong" makes me cry tears of joy. Thanks for stopping by again!!!

  9. I love Pat Benetar.... and Hell Is For Children is such a sad sad song... it always makes me cry... especially the live version with the intro Suffer The Little Children

"Sweet Melissa, I often pray for you
I hope your suffering was brief
I hope the angels that watch over all little children
Came for you and took you someplace beautiful and sweet
    Aahh..
    Suffer The Little Children"

    Ok... now I'm crying...
