There Can Be Only One

First of all, please be assured that there is nothing about this piece that is meant to unfairly demean, insult, nor embarrass, anyone in any way for whatever they may have come to accept as being the truth about what are generally considered as being religious matters in the eyes of the world. For it would not serve any good purpose to do so.

Nonetheless, bruised egos, hurt feelings, and a host of other calamities will undoubtedly abound. For the absolute truth of the matter truly is that there can be only one way that is right, and that would make everything to the contrary—wrong.

Yes, many would argue that it is utter nonsense to even hold a discussion on the subject. For they would be of the opinion that it does not really matter what someone wants to believe.

It is a valid point, but their consternation is puzzling. For if it does not really matter what is believed, what does it matter if one wants to believe that their way is truer than another’s?

Yes, it could be argued that time would be better spent on solving geopolitical problems, and since not the least of them involve certain religious factions holding an extremely devout belief that it is their duty to rid this world of all unbelievers, the point becomes even sharper. For the days of our lives would be a lot more peaceful in a world devoid of religious zealotry.

On the other hand, what if they are wrong? I mean, what if it really does matter what we want to believe is the truth, and that this holds the key to solving all of our problems?

Yes, all of the major religions appear to offer rules to live by that are meant to make their followers better people, and one would be hard-pressed to pick one as being better than the others in this respect. For they are all basically the same—are they not?

Does this mean that one is just as good as another? What if none of them are correct?

No, this is not to say that any religious doctrine that teaches that murder is evil is a bad thing, but is it not troubling that a religion based upon the absolute truth being that we were created by God would also teach that we must do this or that in order to prove ourselves as being worthy of His favor? After all, could He have not created us as He wanted us to be in the first-place?

Yes, one could argue that Buddhism frees us from enslavement to such a notion without denying us a way to improve ourselves. For Buddhism teaches that there is no Creator, nor creation—for that matter, but even in their way of thinking, something dictates our levels of existence. Besides, does spending all of eternity in an impersonal expanse when one reaches perfection sound like nirvana to you?

Okay, it is time to come clean. I am a Christian.

Nonetheless, that does not take anything away from the original point. For the thing about absolute truth is that it leaves no room for variances, and that certainly applies to Christianity.

Yes, it is a can of worms that most do not want opened, but what about our Heavenly Father? For it makes a mockery out of Him to have so many versions of His Gospel being preached.

No, there would not be any way of really knowing which way is the truth if it is indeed true that He ceased all direct communication with us after the text of His Holy Bible was completed. For who could say for sure that their interpretation is any more valid than another?

Yes, ages-old traditions do hold a source of comfort. For it naturally makes a lot of sense that something would have to be right in order for it to last very long, but are not all of the major religions centuries old?

There is also a comfort in numbers. For it also makes a lot of sense (naturally speaking, of course) that so many could not be wrong, but do not all of the major religions have millions of followers?

No, we are not at an impasse. For our Heavenly Father still speaks, and if we would just want to truly hear His voice, we would hear Him saying that He created us (as in all of mankind) to be His children by faith in order to give Himself opportunities to truly receive love that is freely given, and that it is for this reason that this world is as it is.

Yes, everything really does happen for a reason. For it will be as it should be in the end, and if you will ask Him what that means, I am quite sure that He will tell you.

What you just read was originally posted on [FishHawk Droppings], and then deleted when that blog was employed to host all of the books that our Heavenly Father has given me to publish in the order that they are meant to be read. It was worth reposting—especially after reading some of the comments that have been posted [here].

Further help can be found [here], as well as [here], [here] and [here]. For it is written: For God does speak—now one way, now another—though man may not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride, o preserve his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword. [Job 33:14-18 NIV]

  1. Thank you so very much for that, my dear Sharkbytes!!! Hopefully, a very great many will be willing to hear what our Heavenly Father actually says is absolutely true. More importantly, may they be willing to accept it.

  2. I may not understand much when it come to talk about religion but I know one thing...I was born and raised in the Catholic faith and those are the beliefs that I hold on to. As for the rest, I can not change the path that others choose to follow. Whatever path you are on will utimately lead you to the final destiny that you chose. (Does that even make any sense?)

  3. It has always struck me as distinctly UNfunny listening to the never ending diatribes emitted by those who stand "center" (and left thereof). For all their rants about tolerance and acceptance whether "the right" likes it or not, it remains a ridiculously hypocritical one way street. A-MEN and excellent post!

  4. I'm so grateful that Jesus left all the majesty of His rightful place in heaven and came to earth, took on human limitations, so He could go to the cross for us.

  5. Yes, what you said makes a great deal of sense, my dear Ann. For whatever path we chose to follow will lead us to our final destination, and that will mean the end to those who have chosen the wrong path.

The point of this is that there is only One way to spend all of eternity with our Heavenly Father in His Kingdom of Heaven as an heir to all that is His in glory, and that only He can lead us down it. Tragically, far too many will not want to follow, but no one will be able to honestly say that they did not fully understand everything that He wanted them to, come Judgment Day. For He will make sure of that Himself.

Now, if you would take some time to read The Crackerhead Chronicles on FishHawk Droppings, you will see that our Heavenly Father let me wander around in the dark for quite some time. Be assured that I would have looked you square in the eye during that time and told you that I was a good Christian, but it was not until He made Himself real to me that I came to know and understand just what truly being one of His children by faith was really all about it. Please, keep listening for His voice.

  6. Oh, but it would be hysterically funny if it was not concerning such important matters. For there they are ripping into others for ripping into others. Is this not a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black? Thanks for stopping by, my dear -J!!!

  7. One of the most amazing things that He has done for me is to allow and enable me to understand that what He did when He went to the cross was, in effect, proving just how much He really does love us to a much greater extent than what I was taught. For His Gospel has been presented as being just the righting of a wrong for far too long now when the absolute truth of the matter truly is that instead of just saying that He loves us enough to die for us, He went ahead and actually did it! Granted, paying a price that we could never pay is truly special, but what He did takes it to a whole different level. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Tracy!!!
