A Sunday Drive

Back during my childhood, our parents would often load up my brother and I after Sunday morning church services for a leisurely drive around where we lived. Even though we were seeing mostly familiar sights, it was still good to see them, and this is why “A Sunday Drive” sounded about right for the name of a weekly series revisiting familiar sites that are well worth seeing again and again.

  2. As usual, a nice ride, Fish. You need to step on the gas a bit, but I know how you old guys drive. ;)

  3. A Sunday drive really brings back some memories for me, Dad always took us down that same stretch of Route 66 every Sunday in our little central Illinois town, but we loved it. Thanks for reminding me of those pleasant times as a kid.

  6. Thanks for stopping by, my dear Dave!!! Did you happen live around McLean? The reason I ask is on account of the wonderful Route 66 museum at the Dixie (I think) Truckstop I used to stop at from time to time while I was still truckin'. By the way, I just added your "The Rooster Crows At 4AM" to the list for a future Sites To See, which means that it will also be included here in this series when the time comes. I'll let you know when, which will be a while because of how many were already on the list.
