This series will include as many of my
all-time favorite (ATF) tunes as I can get my grubby little hands on (so to
speak). Now, each one included in each
edition will have some connection with the other—albeit only as a figment of my
imagination, but they will not be numbered.
For I just cannot bring myself to rate some higher than others. So, this will not be a countdown, but if you
are enjoying them as much as I do, it won’t matter. Besides, with no countdown, this could go on
forever and ever! Oh, and despite the
fact that there is absolutely no way your musical tastes could be as exquisite
as mine, I welcome any suggestions you might dare to make. For I am, after all, quite magnanimous by
nature.

Come As You Are
Nirvana
Come as you are
As you were
As I want you to be
As a friend
As a friend
As an old enemy
Take your time
Hurry up
The choice is yours
Don't be late
Take a rest
As a friend
As an old
Memory
Yeah
Memory
Yeah
Memory
Yeah
Memory
Yeah
Come doused in mud
Soaked in bleach
As I want you to be
As a trend
As a friend
As an old
Memory
Yeah
Memory
Yeah
Memory
Yeah
Memory
Yeah
And I swear that I don't have a gun
No I don't have a gun
No I don't have a gun
Memory
Yeah
Memory
Yeah
Memory
Yeah
Memory
No I don't have a gun
Yeah
And I swear that I don't have a gun
No I don't have a gun
No I don't have a gun
No I don't have a gun
No I don't have a gun
Memory
Yeah
Memory
Yeah

Far Behind
Candlebox
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But I did it anyway
And now maybe
Some would say your life was sad
But you lived it anyway
And so maybe
Your friends they stand around they watch your crumble
As you falter to the ground
And then someday
Your friends they stand beside as you were flying
Oh you were flying oh so high
But them someday people look at you
For what they call their own
They watch you suffer
Yeah yeah
They hear you calling home
But then some day we could take our time
To brush the leaves aside so you can reach us
But you left me far behind
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
Now maybe
Some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
No no no
Couldn't share the pain
They watch you suffer
Now maybe
I could have made my own mistakes
But I live with what I've known
And then maybe
We might share in something great
But won't you look at where we've grown
Won't you look at where we've gone
But then someday comes tomorrow holds
A sense of what I feel for you in my mind
As you trip the final line
And that cold day when you lost control
Shame you left my life so soon you should have told me
But you left me far behind
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
Now maybe
Some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
No no no
Oh no
Oh no no no no
Oh no
Oh no no no no
Oh no
Oh no no no no
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
Now maybe
Some would say you're left with what you had
But you couldn't share the pain
No I said times have changed your friends
They come and watch you crumble to the ground
They watch you suffer
Yeah they hold you down
Hold you down
Now maybe
Brother
Maybe love
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But you left me far behind
Left me far behind
Left me far
Behind

I'm a grunge child. I love it. Everyone who knows me, knows I love. I even wear grunge clothes (every now and again still today, even with hubby's frowns, hee heee heee). Thanks Jerry, GREAT MUSIC!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my dear Shadow!!! I received a very disturbing (at least to me) introduction to Nirvana when I was watching a MTV (I think) interview where Cobain talked about him and his pregnant wife just shooting up heroine together backstage before the interview like it was no big deal. This was before our Heavenly Father started changing me and my perception, and I can now hear that (as well as throughout their music) as being a deafening cry for help--not only just for themselves., which is echoed by grunge music in general.
DeleteTortured souls make the best artists... Kurt Cobain did not lead an exemplary life, far from it, and as you rightly say, I think he tried to find his lost soul through his music. And that is why grunge so appeals to me. I feel it....
DeleteYes, grunge is very raw, and I hope Kurt accepted the Truth when he could. It is widely held belief in the Christian community that suicide is the unpardonable sin, which is true--both actually and figuratively. Nonetheless, it all depends upon whether or not a person was in their right-mind at the time, and it has been personally revealed to me by our Heavenly Father that it is entirely possible for someone to technically commit suicide and not be held responsible because of not actually being in full control of their actions.
DeleteMoreover, all who physically die and were not given an opportunity to fully accepting all that our Heavenly Father actually says is absolutely true are asked to do so before they face judgment. For our Heavenly Father really has always wanted each and every person to spend all of eternity with Him in His kingdom of Heaven as an heir to all that is His in glory, and the wrath He will pour out upon the wicked, come Judgment Day, is actually about His heartbreak over their rejection of Him--not what has been so falsely taught in His name about His righteous indignation over sin.
Never was a Nirvana fan and the other one I never heard of
