WhiteHeart Wednesday

Set The Bridge On Fire
WhiteHeart
Break out of the dark land you live in
Set the bridge on fire
Cross over the deep troubled water
Set the bridge on fire

Take a long hard look all around you
Is this the promised land
At first it always seems so allurin’
But see the trouble you’re in
Storm clouds are buildin’
There’s a shadow across your heart
Hard thunder rollin’
Why would you ever choose to go this way again

Break out of the dark land you live in
Set the bridge on fire
Cross over the deep troubled water
Set the bridge on fire

You’ve made this journey over and over
It’s got to come to an end
Now you stand at the bridge of decision
Between two different lands
Let the Spirit guide you
He’ll give you strength to step across
Then burn the bridge behind you
So you’ll never ever go that way again

Break out of the dark land you live in
Set the bridge on fire
Cross over the deep troubled water
Set the bridge on fire
Stand up for the truth you believe in
It is a high power
Strike back with the bright torch of freedom
Set the bridge on fire

Break out of the dark land you live in
Set the bridge on fire
Cross over the deep troubled water
Set the bridge on fire
Stand up for the truth you believe in
It is a high power
Strike back with the bright torch of freedom
Set the bridge on fire

  1. Could you some day explain your fascination with this group?

  3. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Grace!!! Back in 1993, I did not know that there was such a thing as Contemporary Christian Music, and WhiteHeart's "The Flame Passes On" set my heart on fire for Gospel Rock. Much to my delight, I found that they had many of what I consider to be truly great songs, regardless of the genre, and this series is meant to pass them along unto others. Now, not every song I have in this collection is a favorite of mine, but I find even those that are not to be fairly enjoyable in one way or another.

  4. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! I suppose it all depends upon where the bridge is leading to, such as to something abusive.
