Jennifer Bon Jovi?

Who Says You Can’t Go Home
Bon Jovi (with Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland)
I spent twenty years tryin’ to get out of this place
I was lookin’ for somethin’ I couldn’t replace
I was runnin’ away from the only thing I’ve ever known

And like a blind dog without a bone
I was a gypsy lost in the twilight zone
I hijacked a rainbow and crashed into a pot of gold

I’ve been there
Done that
Now I ain’t lookin’ back
On the seeds I’ve sown
Savin’ dimes
Spendin’ too much time on the telephone
Who says you can’t go home

Who says you can’t go home
There’s only one place
That calls me one of their own
Just a hometown boy
Born a rollin’ stone
Who says you can’t go home
Who says you can’t go back
Been all around the world
And as a matter of fact
There’s only one place left
I want to go
Who says you can’t go home
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right

I went as far as I could
I tried to find a new face
There isn’t one of the lines
That I would erase
I left a million miles of memories
On that road

Every step I take
I know that I’m not alone
You take the home from the boy
But not the boy from his home
These are my streets
The only life I’ve ever known
Who says you can’t go home

Who says you can’t go home
There’s only one place
That calls me one of their own
Just a hometown boy
Born a rollin’ stone
Who says you can’t go home
Who says you can’t go back
Been all around the world
And as a matter of fact
There’s only one place left
I want to go
Who says you can’t go home

It doesn’t matter where you are
It doesn’t matter where you go
If it’s a million miles away
Or just a mile up the road
Take it in
Take it with you when you go
Who says you can’t go home

Who says you can’t go back
Been all around the world
And as a matter of fact
There’s only one place left
I want to go
Who says you can’t go home
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
Who says you can’t go home
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
Who says you can’t go home
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
It’s all right
Who says you can’t go home

  1. I like it. There are days when I wish I could still go back home to where I grew up. Maybe I should drop in on the people that live there now one day and ask if I can check out my old room...lol

  2. I love Jennifer, Bon Jovi, and home. Love both those videos. Do you know he first sang it with Keith Urban, but their voices sounded too much the same?

  3. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Ann!!! In "The Crackerhead Chronicles," I mention going back to see one of the places we lived at when I was young, and wondering what happened to the barn. For I had remembered it as being huge when it was actually not much bigger than a good-sized car garage that would be attached to a house.

  4. Thanks for stopping by again, my dear Sandie!!! No, I didn't know that, and I'm sure glad they settled on Jennifer.
